WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY & THANKFUL THURSDAY

FEBRUARY 15TH thru FEBRUARY 16th, 2012, in KEY WEST WITH LYNDA!!!

HAPPY FEBRUARY 15TH BIRTHDAY TO…….CAROL TEDESCO….

HAPPY 28TH ANNIVERSARY TO   LARRY HARVEY & ALAN FERGUSON!!!!

LAST DAYS TO SEE ‘DEAD MAN’S CELL PHONE’ AT THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE….NOW THRU FEB. 18TH…This wildly imaginative comedy runs Tuesday thru Saturday, ONLY until Feb. 18th. It is the thought-provoking odyssey of one woman who tries to make people feel just a wee bit better about themselves. The NY Times called it ‘A beguiling comedy with surprising twists & turns.’ The great cast consists of Carbonnel award-winning actress, Lela Elam, Brandon Beach (who gives an amazing soliloquy in Act II), the always hilarious Robin Deck, the seductive, Shakti Assouline, and Stephanie Yosen.( who both wowed audiences in August: Osage County). For tix go to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org or call the box office at 294-5015. This is a most enjoyable and interesting bit of theater dealing with family relationships and the bizarre events that surround our lives. It involves life in the hereafter and what might happen there. Congrats to the Waterfront on another super presentation!

“GOD OF CARNAGE” at the RED BARN RUNS THRU MARCH 10…..This Tony award- winning play opened at The Barn on Feb. 7. Directed by the amazing, Joy Hawkins, this play is about 2 couples who meet to discuss an altercation that occurred between their sons….Civilized manners soon give way to a rumble in the living room as we watch these really good actors behave terribly, inciting the kind of laughter that comes from the gut! This play runs through March 10. Call the box office at 296-9911 or go online to www.redbarntheatre.com to reserve your seats! We saw this play on Thursday, Feb. 9, with a full house audience, and it was very well done! The four actors….Mimi McDonald, Bob Bowersox, George Murphy and Annie Miners, did a great job conveying parents of battling children who are all battling within themselves. It is very funny and yet you wonder if their children may be more adult than they are. My husband, Bob and I both found this show to be one that you can’t help but wonder how these couples fare when they are at home in the confines of their rooms! It is a play that challenges you to think and to examine your own relationship….and it can’t help but bring up some memories of how you may have reacted badly when your own children were youngsters. Great show Red Barn!!!!! Congrats!

I AM THANKFUL ON THURSDAY……I am very thankful for everyone who sent me Valentine Greetings and loving wishes in various ways. And isn’t it especially wonderful to actually receive a card and note…. hand written and mailed….with a real stamp on it? In this electronic age, with everyone so ultra busy, that you should take the time to buy a card, write a message with a pen, add the stamp and then drop it off in the mailbox….just to delight the person you sent it to, warms the cockles of my heart! Thanks to all who went the extra mile…..And I am so thankful for Bob, who had cards hidden all over the house and a super gift waiting when I awoke…..He is my Knight in shining armor!!!!
