AUGUST 4th THRU AUGUST 8th , in KEY WEST WITH LYNDA!!!!

WE REMEMBER EMILY BOYD LOWE……It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that we lost the wonderful Emily Boyd Lowe, who passed away peacefully at 2 am on August 1, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones. Emily was a true Key West treasure….someone cherished by all who knew her. For many years she headed the marvelous Keys Chorale and was teacher, mentor and friend to all in the Chorale. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and a real Lady. You can send messages of sympathy and caring to her husband, Donald Lowe at, 3170 Gousty Knowe Lane, Lake Leelenau, MI 49653. There will be a memorial service to honor Emily in either October or November. In the meantime….keep Emily’s husband, Don and the family in your choicest thoughts and prayers as they deal with their great loss. And, if you look into the sky at night you will see a bright star shining in the Heavens…..that would be Emily Lowe shining brightly like the special star she was. The choirs of angels will never sound better with Emily directing them! She will be missed more than words can say.

WE WELCOME DONNA BARNETT & TERRI WHITE……This super duo has returned “home” to Key West for eight days. They are emptying their storage unit and loading up a van….then heading to NYC where they will do the same. After Aug. 31, they will be heading from NYC to their new apartment in North Hollywood, CA, where they plan to relocate! Lots of exciting stuff is happening with Terri White’s musical career and both gals are looking forward to this new venture in their lives! Never fear, Key West! They will be returning to this Island that they both love now and again! Great seeing Terri and Donna around town….first at The Gardens Hotel, the Monkey Bar, and on Wed. at Aqua Nightclub, where Terri sang with Bobby Nesbitt at the piano! Loved seeing the Cottrells, the Camerons, John Padget, Eloise Kaiser, Kathy & Steve Russ, Mark Watson, Eric Haley (who also graced us with some songs!!!) and so many others having a grand old time!

THE SHINGLES!!!!!…..I just heard from one of my readers that her husband is plagued with an horrendous case of the Shingles….affecting his forehead, face, all his senses….he has no energy, is in constant great pain surrounding his eye and head. It can be very serious especially in the facial area. She highly suggests that everyone get a shingles vaccination. I think I have to agree with her. Better safe than sorry, right?

WE DEPART KEY WEST ON AUGUST 4TH…..We returned to Key West on July 11th and have enjoyed a non-stop wonderful time since then! Now, we are in the process of closing our shutters, and readying our home for the possible hurricane that is not allowed to come to Key West! We begin our drive back to dear Rose Cottage at Chippewa Lake, Ohio on Saturday, 8/4 morning! We will then remain there until October 15th or so….I say, ‘whenever it starts to get cold.’ I will continue to send out my blog while I am away….so please keep sending me whatever info you want me to share with my readers. It has been great seeing so many of you while here. Stay in touch!

LAST MONDAY BURLESQUE…..We attended this new Burlesque Show on Monday night, headed by Frenchie (Shawna Lacey Wynd) and Heather Mae Potter, and it was quite a wild ride! The nearly sold out crowd whooped and hollered, laughed and cheered all night long! I was told that it was rawer and edgier than audiences have been accustomed to, and that was true! Anyway, it was fun and never dull……and it promises to change and add new acts every month! Wishing these two lovely ladies great success on this new KW Venture! And come with an open mind….it is a walk on the wild side!!!!!

This is the most regal sign of the Zodiac. Every Leo worth their salt has an air of dignity and they behave accordingly. They seem to know they are different from everyone else and don’t want us to forget it! They know that everyone would wither up without them, as Leos are life-enhancing!

Most Leos have wonderful hair….luxuriant thick manes. Their hair is one of the first things you will notice about them. They are exuberant and enthusiastic, as well as warm and affectionate. Most Leos are confident and don’t feel the need to prove themselves and how great they are. Leos are great naturally, and don’t have to put on any airs and graces to do it.

Leos are very organized…brilliant at making things happen, especially if that means whipping people into shape. Their natural air of authority makes everyone else sit up and take notice. Family matters are dear to every Leo’s heart. They place a LOT of importance on keeping in touch with scattered members of the clan. They like gathering their relatives around them every now and then. They have a keen interest in their children and teach them to stand on their own two feet. The typical Leo has a huge heart and a boundless supply of love for everyone they care about.
