Please send me the names of those whom should be added to the prayer chain. I know there are others out there who could use good thoughts, prayers, and cheer from the community. Remember also, that you don’t have to be physically sick to be prayed for…there are Many reasons people need our prayers. Prayers change things, and we are all in this together. Thank you!
TAKE THE ONLINE POLL ABOUT WIDENING THE CHANNEL….
The online poll by the Key West Citizen is on spending the 5 to 6 million dollars on a feasibility study for widening the channel so Mega-Huge Ships could come into KW. I urge you to take this poll, and let our Commissioners know how you feel. Personally, I think the Commission should put an end to this, and I hope you do too! They are watching to see how we all vote, and your vote is very important. Please send this to all your friends. The poll is located on the bottom of Tuesday’s paper ( and perhaps today’s, too). Simply go to HYPERLINK “http://www.keysnews.com” www.keysnews.com, and scroll down. Voting ends this weekend…so do not hesitate…Vote TODAY! The question to answer is: How do you feel about the Key West proposal to conduct at $5 million feasibility study on widening its main shipping channel? Your choices are:
A—It’s a good idea. We have to keep up with changes in the cruise ship industry.
B—I’m undecided. I want to know more about the benefits and detriments of widening the channel.
C—It’s a waste of money. The city already has too much cruise ship traffic and it’s driving off upscale tourists.
D—I want to know who’s behind this effort. The residents don’t seem to want it, but somebody’s applying the pressure.
Thanks you for taking a stand for the good of our Community! Let your friends know, please!

I am thankful for Vincent Zito who has created a quality and enduring entity in the Key West Pops. This marvelous musical man is not only an excellent maestro; he demonstrates over and over again how artistic people could choose to handle their responsibilities. He is a leader by example. I am also thankful for Lurana, Stephanie and the entire Key West Pops Board of Directors. Without each of their dedication and participation the experience would be lessened.
I am thankful for the artistic contributions of Key West residents Laurie Breakwell, Joy Hawkins, Maj Johnson, Penny Leto, Bruce Moore, Danny Weathers, Dean Walters & David Black to the artistic sensibility of Key West. Their performance with the pops was outstanding, spectacular and inspiring. (If I have inadvertently omitted any key west resident I offer my apologies).
Respectfully,
David Francis
