Directed by the always amazing Danny Weathers, with musical direction by Michael Fauss, choreography by Penny Leto and costumes by Leigh Hooten…this is sure to be another SMASH HIT for the Waterfront Playhouse!!! KW FRINGE THEATER PRESENTS ‘DINNER’…March 9-10-11…..Bob and I went to see this delish satirical comedy on March 2nd, at The Woman’s Club on Duval St. I must say, we enjoyed it immensely as did the entire very enthusiastic audience! Directed by Peter King and wonderfully acted by Vanessa McCaffrey, Tony Konrath, Tammy Shanley, Melody Moore, Ross Pipkin, Wayne Dapser and PJ King…this is “immersion” theater…up close & personal. The storyline is very intriguing….Paige (Vanessa M) is throwing a dinner party for her husband, Lars (Peter King) & four friends to celebrate his latest book….she pays the waiter $25 thou in cash….the menu is terribly bizarre, each dish chosen to keep with her theme…. And she has stage-managed the event with great care. The Women’s Club is the perfect venue for this production. The dining table is set, with the actors there, in the center of the room literally oblivious that there are audience members in seats along the perimeter of the room, just a heart beat away from them. They are so “immersed” in their roles, they are not even aware that you are in the room observing the goings on at this dinner party. As the evening unfolds, you become more in tune with what is going on. You are taken on a roller coaster ride with the guests as you find out the dark surprises Paige has in store for her guests! It is fascinating stuff and super interesting and fun to watch, The Fringe is a great addition to our Key West Theater Community! Congrats to Monnie King who has taken over the reins of Key West Fringe. She has lots of great ideas up her sleeve! I highly recommend this very entertaining evening! Tickets are $25. Next performance nights are..and March 9,10,11. Showtime is 7:30 PM!!! Get tix by going to www.keystix.com or call 295-7676 to reserve! Go to the website at www.keywestfringe.org for more information!
