THE LAST SUPPER……It was with a mixture of joy and sadness that we dined for the last time at Square One Restaurant on Friday, Jan. 17th! As you all know, Michael Stewart, the classy, handsome, debonair proprietor of this fine establishment, sold it. That is the sad news. We LOVE Michael and he will be missed terribly. The good news is that he sold it to two other of my favorite restaurateurs, Carmello Vitale and Carolyn Sullivan, former owners of LaTrattoria, and present owners of The BottleCap! They along with the owner of Banana Café will treat Square One royally and, though it is the “End of an Era” so to speak, I know they will do everything to keep everyone in town happy and content! Glad to hear that the staff will stay in tact….and now we just look forward to the Grand Opening!!!! By the way, Square One was packed on Thursday….a tribute to Michael and how adored he is by everyone in Key West!

FIONA MOLLOY AT WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE….We had the great pleasure of seeing one of our favorite Key West performers, the wonderful FIONA MOLLOY, perform on the stage of the esteemed Waterfront Playhouse! Those who were there in the sold out audience, experienced a beautiful evening with one of the most sincere and humble entertainers ever….blessed with a gorgeous voice! I was thrilled to hear all the raves from those in attendance…all well-deserved! It was a special evening! The marvelous Bobby Nesbitt, who has been a huge Fiona fan for years, appeared in the second part of the program and he was pure class as always! Their rendition of “Look to the Rainbow” was memorably grand! I hope everyone will continue to support this one-of-a-kind singer. And, Finnegan’s Wake did a super catering job for the after show! It was all in all, a night to remember!

ANNE O’SHEA WANTS INPUT…..Producer, Anne O’Shea is one of the producers of ‘ANN ON BROADWAY’….a play written by and starring the wonderful actress, HOLLAND TAYLOR (who has a recurring role on 3 ½ Men and was so great on Boston Legal)…..which opens in preview at The Vivien Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center, Feb. 18th….with a March 7th official opening. It is a one-woman show with Holland Taylor playing the former Texas governor ANN RICHARDS, whom we all loved for her wit, charm and personality. Anne O’Shea is interested to find out who from Key West may be interested in being a part of a contingent to fly to NYC sometime during the production…. so this is kind of a touchy feely kind of request.
