The movie TARPON, filmed in Key West in 1974, will be shown today at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort…7 to 10:00 PM….This is a benefit for Heron Peacock Supported Living, which provides care for adults living with mental illness in the Keys. The movie, Tarpon, will be shown at 8:00 PM. The music was written and performed by Jimmy Buffet….authors were Thomas McGuane, Richard Brautigan and Jim Harrison….Tickets are $35. This is your very last night to see this wonderful show at The Red Barn Theatre. Bob and I went to see it on Thursday evening, and we loved it to pieces! Joan O’Dowd was perfect in this amazing little gem of a show….You just wanted to hug her to bits…Funny, heartwarming, clever, adorable, charming, insightful, thoughtful…those are just some of the words that describe this marvelous one-woman play. It has a great message too…to live life to the very fullest! Congratulations to the Red Barn on this luminous show, and to Joy Hawkins, director and the star, Joan O’Dowd, who stole our hearts! LIZ CALLAWAY….
…I tell you folks…we have been to a LOT of shows in this town, and most of them have been terrific…but I want you to know, that Liz Callaway, tonight, at the Tennessee Williams Theatre, was as good as it gets! It was a marvelous show….Bob and I and Keith Dempster and Jimmy Olson, brought Liz in for this show, and she was fabulous! I think I was misty eyed at least five times during the night, and everyone in the audience loved her and every moment of her show! We sure hope that next year we will bring both Liz and her equally wonderful and talented sister, Ann Hampton Callaway, back for their great NEW show in Key West!
Wow!!! So many things to do…so little time! Choose wisely!
