HOWARD LIVINGSTON CONCERT THIS PAST TUESDAY…. Howard Livingston has got to be the most endearing entertainer around! He has been so successful with his singing and songwriting, and yet he remains sincerely unpretentious….completely happy and almost incredulous that he has such an enormous following and that his songs are so well-received. He has adoring fans, whom he adores…. and after attending one of his concerts it becomes obvious why. He is simply wonderful at what he does…..he has a personality that absolutely delights, and a smile that embraces the whole Island! He and the Mile Marker 24 Band, 5 sensational musicians in their own right, presented a great concert for the benefit of The Waterfront Playhouse. He sang his songs, interwoven with warm and relatable stories of his own life…..songs that were both joyful, and fun, and some that broke your heart. It is the rare musician/entertainer that can make you forget the crabgrass of the outside world and for the time he is onstage, you know in your heart that everything will be just fine…that all’s right with the world….and everyone you are sharing the moments there with Howie, is experiencing pure joy and real gratitude to be living in Key West! HELP KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL WITH OPERATION GRADUATION…. Thus far $5,000 has been collected for Operation Graduation for the senior class…an all night event providing a safe, alcohol & drug free celebration….a night of music, dancing, movies, games, fun and food. Everyone is asked to help, as it takes a great effort to make this happen. However….it takes $20,000 for this event to be put on. If the money isn’t raise the event will be cancelled. Perhaps if your org wants to do something on behalf of the kids, you can put on a fundraiser. BROADWAY STAR, TERRI WHITE PERFORMS ON APRIL 16TH……. The wonderful Terri White returns to Key West to perform a special show for The Waterfront Playhouse! She will be presenting this concert at The San Carlos Institute at 8 PM on April 16th. Terri most recently has starred in Broadway Shows, Finian’s Rainbow and Chicago…..bringing down the house every time she sang on stage! ( Now she is in rehearsal for Sondheim’s, FOLLIES, at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. She is in prestigious company starring with Bernadette Peters, Elaine Paige, Linda Lavin, Ron Raines, and other sensational stars.) BILLY CARTLEDGE & JIM HALL ARE THANKFUL ON FRIDAY……. “We have been the proud subjects of our little dachshund, “Lucy” for almost 16 years. This little dog has been ‘the boss of us’ and we have found happiness and joy in her odd little personality. She single-handedly formed a family where there was none. Miss Lucy has led a charmed life. Her first 6 years, she was an “only”dog…traveling extensively thru the USA…as far away as Alaska. She has brough neighbors together and created many enduring friendships. As she is nearing the end of her time with us, I am overwhelmed by the love she still gives, even in her weak and frail state. AS sad as we will be when she leaves us, I find comfort in all the years of memories she will leave behind. Hopefully she will live to see another Thursday…and we will have that much more to be thankful for. With teary eyes and a heavy heart, I end this tribute.” (Just in case Miss Lucy does not make it until next Thankful Thursday!!!!! This one’s for you.)
LATITUDES….. Tonight we went to dinner at Latitudes on Sunset Key and enjoyed a glorious time….gorgeous atmosphere, amazing sunset, delish food, great service…. All this truly takes your breath away! Thanks to Terry Luzius who makes things special and for the royal treatment received by all. It was our friend, Pam Vereb’s birthday, and it was a memorable evening for us all!

This event starts at 9 am at The Studios of KW….at 600 White St. Participation is Free and begins with juice and coffee…then it’s off to hit the streets of Old Town KW. The idea is to get swept away by whatever inspires you…sketching, painting,, writing poetry, or getting together with friends to create a performance piece on the street. Bring your fave art-making tools…pens, sketchbooks, cameras and paint, to enjoy a day of public creativity.
