BRUCE MOORE BACK IN KEY WEST….. Hey folks! If you see me smiling MOORE than usual, it’s because my dear friend, Bruce Moore, returned to Key West last night and will be staying for a while! (Hopefully we can talk him into staying forever!) Anyway, he has a couple of projects to do in Key West….and besides,….soooo…..he has decided to return to Key West. Besides, he really has been missing Key West, and all his friends, including mois, Bobby and all the Tappers, and then some! Hey Tappers…..Interested in going to class on Saturday morning at 11 am? Let me know and we can make that happen? E-mail me with your answer!!!! Let us all give Brucie a real Key West Welcome HOME!!!!!!!!

 

FRANK ROMANO MEMORIAL ON FRI., JUNE 3^RD….. A celebration of the wonderful life of the beloved, FRANK ROMANO, will be held at 4 PM on June 3^rd, at The Tennessee Williams Theatre at 5901 College Rd. on Stock Island. Everyone is invited to attend. Frank was a true Key West Legend, a great supporter of the Arts and everything in Key West. We loved Frank and will miss him very much! Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe Liszka, Kim Romano, his Family and all the friends whom Frank touched in so many special ways.

ADOPT A CAT MONTH IN KEY WEST…..ALL OF JUNE!!!! The Florida Keys SPCA is having a June Adopt a Cat Month, and all thru June cats and kittens can be adopted for FREE, thanks to an anonymous donor! They all come complete with vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, and microchipped! There are SO many felines at the SPCA that they hope you will take full advantage of this FREE offer and make rooms in your homes and hearts for a sweet pet! Call 294-4857 for more info. HELP KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL WITH OPERATION GRADUATION….$4 thou needed…. Thus far $16,000 has been collected for Operation Graduation for the senior class…an all night event providing a safe, alcohol & drug free celebration….a night of music, dancing, movies, games, fun and food. Everyone is asked to help, as it takes a great effort to make this happen. However….it takes $4,000 MORE DOLLARS for this event to be put on. If the money isn’t raise the event will be cancelled. If everyone on my list contributed $15. Each, we could say we gave our graduating seniors a wonderful and safe time! Think about it….and send whatever you can to this Fund! Perhaps if your org wants to do something on behalf of the kids, you can put on a fundraiser. BOBBY AT THE GARDENS ON JUNE 2….. The fabulous D’Vine Wine Gallery is open from Wed. thru Sun. from 5 to 10 pm every week. The marvelously talented, Bobby Nesbitt performs in the Conservatory on June 2^nd from 5:30 to 9 pm! There are wonderful new tables and chairs indoors at The Gardens….a perfect way to enjoy Bobby!!!!!

CHRISTOPHER PETERSON….HE’S BA-A-ACK! And aren’t we glad????? We caught Christopher Peterson’s EYECONS show on Friday night, along with a full house of adoring fans, and we never stopped smiling and laughing! He is one-of-a-kind, and Key West is blessed to have him back. He will be performing on Friday and Saturday nights in the Crystal Room,,,this coming June 3 and 4, at 9 pm in the Crystal Room at LaTeDa!!!! Call 296-6706 for reservations!

 

 

AUDITIONS FOR ‘AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY’ AT WATERFRONT…MAY 31….. Director & Artistic Director, Danny Weathers will be holding auditions for ‘August: Osage County” the Pulitzer Prize & Tony award-winning play which will be presented at the Waterfront Playhouse, Dec. 20 thru Jan 14. Auditions for this drama take place from 5 to 8 pm at the Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square. Needed are experienced actors….6 men and 7 women. GOODBY BASH FOR GORDY MICHAEL….JUNE 6^TH….. The multi-talented musician/singer/entertainer, Gordy Michael and his lovely wife, Debbie will soon be leaving Key West for Oregon and it is time to get together to wish them well! On Mon., June 6^th, from 5 to 7 pm, you are ALL invited to Tavern’N Town at BeachSide Marriott, for a Farewell Party for this special couple.
