First of all…Just want to tell you that the MARILYN MAYE concert at Tennessee Williams was absolutely fantastic! There was a full house of adoring fans… She was phenomenal! It was one of those Key West evenings to remember forever! Those who were there shared something so special and personal. And thanks so much to Pat West and Chip Allen of The KEYS Piano Bar, personal friends of MARILYN, who had a wonderful after party at The KEYS especially for those who experienced this amazing night of fabulous music and song!!!! AQUA IDOL NIGHT…
….at Aqua Nightclub, 711 Duval St. This IS the place to be on Tuesday evenings for Happy Hour! 6:30 PM…..Contestants are Keith Dempster, Sam Trophia, Jimmy (or Jean) Olson, Rick Dery, Laurie Thebault, Darian, and Chris Tanner…and they are all terrific!!!! BUT…someone will be eliminated tonight! If you want YOUR contestant to stay in from week to week, you must show up and shower him/her with TIPS…..It is the contestant with the LEAST amount of Tips that is eliminated from the competition the following week. ALL TIPS benefit The Trophia Butterfly Foundation, a wonderful non-profit, that is responsible for beautifying the environment of Key West! Randy Thompson is the emcee….and tonight’s judges will be Tony Konrath, Audrey Samz, and me, Lynda Frechette! Another added attraction will be a guest singing appearance by Broadway Baby, Bruce Moore, who will earn some $$$$ for The Trophia Foundation!! It’s the luminous and sultry, Carmen Rodriguez along with dashing Gordy Michael performing from 5 to 9:00 PM at Beachside Marriott! It’s also 2 for 1 Tapas and 2 for 1 Cocktails tonight! We had a great dinner on Sunday, before the Paradise Big Band concert at TWFAC. Also a terrific singer, guitarist was entertaining…his name is Brian Roberts! FUNDRAISER FOR ALLEN WOODS, AKA ALMA JEAN….My friend, AJ Woods, has been fighting kidney failure for 16 years and is presently on another transplant list. He needs to raise funds to help offset some of the medical costs while he will be in recovery. This event will take place April 29 at Aqua Night Club from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, and everyone in town is invited to attend and help. There will be a show that night, and Alma Jean will be performing some of his/her most memorable numbers, along with a bevy of entertainers and surprise guests!
