UPDATE ON DONNA BARNETT’S GRANDSON…. 

Donna’s grandson, George Owen Berk Eggers, Born May 13, at 10 lbs+ (A big name for a BIG Baby!)….had many problems at birth.  There is a glimmer of  great news today…Yesterday, parents, Stacie & Rob Eggers, got the MRI results and they were normal…no visible brain damage.  He also passed both the vision and hearing tests, and they were planning to take him off the ventilator, in hopes that he will learn to breathe and eat at the same time.  Stacie was able to hold him for the first time.  Thankfully, the parents have found accommodations while they are in transit visiting George in Miami.  The FUND organized by colleagues of Rob’s at the High School, is still set up for them as their bills are overwhelming……You can send donations of any amount to Lisa Morris, c/o Eggers Baby George Fund, Key West High School, 2100 Flagler Ave., Key West, FL 33040.  Make checks payable to Robert Eggers.  Donna, Stacie, Rob and baby George thank you with all their hearts for your profound generosity during this very difficult and challenging time in their lives.   THE KEYS PIANO BAR… ….From 7 until closing, it’s the fabulous Bobby Peaco at the Piano…..Mark Watson is there from 5 to 9 PM…then Michael McCabe is there with his fab vocals at 9 PM on!   COMEDY SHOW AT RED BARN… …Stand up and Laugh!  This show is at 8 PM, and tix can be bought at the Barn!  Hosted by Comedy Central’s Eddie Sarfaty, of the Funny Gay Males Comedy Troupe…..it will “star” the Graduates of the Red Barn’s Own Comedy Boot Camp which went on these last weeks.  Those New Comics, are Kyle Caskey, Shirley Freeman, Hal Cosec, Steve Dawkins, Mook J, Sean MaCquire, Cameron Malcom, Mimi McDonald, Scott Morris, Robin Smith Martin, Cathy Sembert, John Solinski, Juliet Gray, and Carinna Zemke!  It should be a HOOT!  All invited…and don’t we all need to laugh out loud? Tix are $20.   IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN NYC… Check out the musical, CHICAGO, at the Amsterdam Theatre!  TERRI WHITE, stars as Matron Mama Morton, and I hear she simply SHINES in the role!   Also, JOHNNY RODGERS and his marvelous Band, is performing until May 29th, in the English Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel on 44th St.  Rex Reed gave Johnny RAVE reviews!!!!   KEY WEST BURLY Q BIKE PARADE….  Key West Burlesque 2nd Annual Bike Parade at Noon…a leisurely costumed or not,  rock and roll bike tour from uptown to Old town…7 miles….5 Bars….Call 294-7433 for more details.  Meet at Noon…start at 1 PM.   PAINT THE TOWN FUNDRAISER….
