MY DEAR READERS…..            This Sunday, May 8^th, is a very special day!  It is the day set aside for especially remembering our Mothers….to show them how much we love them in a profound way.  Sadly, this will be my first Mother’s Day without my beloved Mother, Queen Adele Stevens.  Not a day goes by where I do not miss her and yearn for her….to wish that the phone would ring and she would be on the other end, and we would talk for hours about anything and everything.  My Mom was the Best……she was beautiful, intelligent, funny, caring, thoughtful, charming, and adorable in every way.  I miss her with all my heart and I always will.  If you are lucky enough to have your Mother in your life, please make sure you remember her and make her feel loved.  I’d give anything to be able to see or talk to my precious Mom just one more time.  In the meantime, my memories will have to do, and believe me I am overwhelmed with wonderful memories!  On this Mother’s Day 2011, I give thanks for Mom and the beautiful person she was.

RED, WHITE & TUN at THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE…..                                    The Waterfront Playhouse concludes its smash 71^st season with the hilarious comedy, “Red, White, and Tuna” starring  two of Key West’s most versatile actors, David Black and Mark Watson.  Showtime is 8:30 PM and it runs Tues. thru Sat. from May 5 to May 21.  Opening night was Thursday, 5/5.…the production is sponsored by Conch Color.    Directed by Cameron Murray, actors, David and Mark play 25 different hysterical and unforgetable characters gathered for a Fourth of July celebration.  Howlingly funny, you may want to wear your Depends when you see this show!   Congrats to Danny Weathers on another wonderful and delightful theater presentation at The Waterfront Playhouse.  It was a laugh every single second and my goodness….we sure do need some laughter, don’t we?    The opening night audience loved it and Bob and I laughed till our faces hurt!  It’s pure delight to have Mark Watson back onstage, and he and David Black are fabulous together!  For tickets to this laugh out loud show, call 294-5015 or go to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org!  Note:  Check out the Friday Night Date special which is 2 tix for $60, a $20 savings.

HELP KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL WITH OPERATION GRADUATION….               Thus far $9,000 has been collected for Operation Graduation for the senior class…an all night event providing a safe, alcohol & drug free celebration….a night of music, dancing, movies, games, fun and food. Everyone is asked to help, as it takes a great effort to make this happen.  However….it takes $11,00 MORE DOLLARS  for this event to be put on.  If the money isn’t raise the event will be cancelled.  If everyone on my list contributed $15. Each, we could say we gave our graduating seniors a wonderful and safe time!  Think about it….and send whatever you can to this Fund!  Perhaps if your org wants to do something on behalf of the kids, you can put on a fundraiser.  Or, donations can be sent to Key West High School….Attention of Leslie Holmes….at 2100 Flagler Ave…..Key West, FL 33040.
