GOODBYE TO GORDY & DEBBIE MICHAEL……. I have always said that the most underrated entertainer in Key West is Gordy Michael. The man can play any instrument for anyone and he has a great voice to boot! I do believe that the entertainers and musicians in town fully realize his amazing talent! Now, he and Debbie are leaving KW for Oregon, and we are all very sad about that! On Monday eve, there was a sensational Going Away Bash at Tavern ‘N Town, and a huge crowd was on hand to give Gordy a warm and loving farewell. Thanks to manager, Ric Palmer, who provided delicious complimentary pizzas for the guests….and of course all drinks were 2 for 1 during the 5 to 7 pm Happy Hour! It was wonderful to see so many Key West entertainers there, including Bobby Nesbitt, Carmen Rodriguez, Skipper Kripitz, Dave Burns, Richard Crooks, Mike Emerson, Melody Cooper, Lenore Troia, Peter & Holly Diamond, Debra & Patrick, Cindy Lu, Marty Stonely, Michael Thomas, and many more….The Lounge was hopping with Gordy’s loyal fans like, Mary Ellen Beattie, the Camerons, the Attis’, Kate Miano, Ron Maranian, and so many others….and what special moment it was when the beloved Joe Liszka walked in! He was immediately surrounded with hugs ‘n love! This was a truly special evening……a real love in for Gordy and Debbie who will be deeply missed. We can only hope and pray that they will be happy in their new environment, and that they will come back time and again to all of us who love them.
