MY MOTHER…
Just want to let you know that my dear mother, Adele Stevens, aka The Queen….will be celebrating her 93rd Birthday on Monday, August 16th. Many have asked for her mailing address, so I will share it with you. I will read all her mail for her and give her your regards, in hopes that she understands. Although her condition continues to decline, we have always celebrated her birthday… these last 10 years it has been dinner at our Rose Cottage. This year, we will take the party to the Villa, and we will all try to get through it, and make it special and memorable for her and mostly for us. As I have been planning this event, all I have been doing is crying. Thanks again for your loving support. All your messages mean the world to me.

Aug. 9th was the first day to vote early and avoid the large lines. Your vote counts, so please exercise your privilege to vote for the candidates and issues on the ballot. In KW you can go to the Supervisor of Elections Office, at 530 whitehead St., #101. And those out of Key West, make sure you get an ansentee ballot! And don’t forget to turn your ballot over and vote for the referendum for the Hired Superintendent.

“Born to be Wild”….That’s the name of the Smart Ride Benefit coming up on August 20th! Co-Hosts are Traci Reynolds and Michael McCabe, two of Key West’s wonderful entertainers and singers! It will be held at The Red Barn at 319 Duval St., with a wine & cheese reception after the show. Reserved seats are $50 and general admission is $30….both can be reserved by calling Karen Frank-Noll at 293-3662. Other featured entertainers in this star-studded show are, Bruce Moore, Gayla Morgan, Vicki Roush, Eric Haley, Amy Pesola, Eric Cole, Maj Johnson, Laurie Breakwell, Victor Lopez and Jody Rae Campbell. HUSBAND BOB…
On July 28th, Bob fell off of his bike and ended up bruised, bloody and swollen in various places! Now, two weeks after the fact, Bob decided his right hand and thumb, expecially, was not healing properly….he decided to finally listen to me, “the little woman”…and see a doctor. He came home with his right hand and arm in a cast. Tomorrow he goes to see an orthopedic surgeon to find out if, in fact, he has a break, as the docs in the ER think he has. We shall keep you posted!
