MINI REVIEW ON TERRI WHITE’S APRIL 16TH PERFORMANCE……. The wonderful Terri White returned to Key West to perform a special show for The Waterfront Playhouse! She presented this concert on The San Carlos Institute stage, to a rapt and adoring audience. It was an amazing night that those in attendance will long remember. Every song was delivered beautifully with great flair and joy. In one song she would make you laugh, in another, she would bring you to tears. It was personal, too, as she intertwined her life in showbiz, since she was 2 years old, with her various song choices. She pulls you in and keeps you close to her heart all night long. She sang so many show stoppers I could have given her a standing O after nearly every one. We love Terri White and hope that she continues to come back time and time again to Key West, the town she and her partner in life, Donna Barnett, love so much. I would be remiss if I did not mention Terri’s musical director, the sensational pianist, Bobby Peaco, from NYC. We all had the pleasure of getting to know Terri and Bobby when they performed regularly at The KEYS Piano Bar (And hey folks, don’t we all really miss THE KEYS????) These two fab performers have worked together many times, all thru NYC, most recently at Feinstein’s Cabaret… and they even made a CD together. They are like two peas in a pod….a perfect duo! The sad thing, is that they have to leave Key West! Terri White, most recently performed on the Broadway stage in Finian’s Rainbow and Chicago, but she has been in many shows through the years. Note that she is now in rehearsal for FOLLIES at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, performing with the likes of Bernadette Peters, Elaine Paige, Regine, Linda Lavin, Ron Raines, a real who’s who of fab actors and singers. Rumor has it that this show is quite the very Best that will ever be presented at The Kennedy Center. (I’m thinking Broadway for the future!) The Waterfront Playhouse was thrilled to have both Terri White and, earlier in the week, Howard Livingston, perform.
