DON’T FORGET…..to remember all your special sweethearts on Valentine’s Day, February 14!

TO THANK EACH OF YOU……I sent out a message yesterday about the passing of two of my cousins this past week, requesting prayers. I have been overwhelmed with caring messages, and I thank you most sincerely for your concern and support. For those who did not receive this message, you can read more about this further on in this blog! Again, thank you and love.

‘DEAD MAN’S CELL PHONE’ AT THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE….NOW THRU FEB. 18TH…This wildly imaginative comedy runs Tuesday thru Saturday, until Feb. 18th. It is the thought-provoking odyssey of one woman who tries to make people feel just a wee bit better about themselves. The NY Times called it ‘A beguiling comedy with surprising twists & turns.’ The great cast consists of Carbonnel award-winning actress, Lela Elam, Brandon Beach (who gives an amazing soliloquy in Act II), the always hilarious Robin Deck, the seductive, Shakti Assouline, and Stephanie Yosen.( who both wowed audiences in August: Osage County). For tix go to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org or call the box office at 294-5015. This is a most enjoyable and interesting bit of theater dealing with family relationships and the bizarre events that surround our lives. It involves life in the hereafter and what might happen there. Congrats to the Waterfront on another super presentation!

“GOD OF CARNAGE” at the RED BARN THRU MARCH 10…..This Tony award- winning play opened at The Barn on Feb. 7. Directed by Joy Hawkins, this play is about 2 couples who meet to discuss an altercation that occurred between their sons….Civilized manners soon give way to a rumble in the living room as we watch these really good actors behave terribly, inciting the kind of laughter that comes from the gut! This play runs through March 10. Call the box office at 296-9911 or go online to www.redbarntheatre.com to reserve your seats! We saw this play on Thursday, Feb. 9, with a full house audience, and it was very well done! The four actors….Mimi McDonald, Bob Bowersox, George Murphy and Annie Miners, did a great job conveying parents of battling children who are all battling within themselves. It is very funny and yet you wonder if their children may be more adult than they are. My husband, Bob and I both found this show to be one that you can’t help but wonder how these couples fare when they are at home in the confines of their rooms! It is a play that challenges you to think and to examine your own relationship. Great show Red Barn!!!!! Congrats!

UPDATE ON PAT WEST……George Sanders informed me that Pat is going to be released from the hospital soon….a handicapped equipped apartment has been rented for her and Chip in NYC. She is in a wheelchair and must keep her right leg elevated at all times. Her leg suffered a triple break & has an erector-set metal cage contraption around it with screws, braces, and the like. Therapy will take a long time, and pain killers, which she hates taking, are a must to get her thru the painful therapy that lies ahead. The good news is that Pat has quit smoking entirely and claims she will never smoke again, a new outlook on longevity! She has great doctors in NY….This was a serious, near-fatal accident with a very lucky outcome for everyone involved. Keep Pat in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through the recovery process! We love you Pat!!!

TERRI WHITE IN FOLLIES…..After a fantastic run in NYC, the final curtain fell on FOLLIES at the Marquis Theatre on Jan. 22. Go to www.playbill.com to read the wonderful Jan. 23 review on that closing. To quote….among the extended ovations was one genuine stop-the-show, leap-to-your-feet experience. Following the mirror song, , “Who’s That Woman”…led by tireless & tap-happy TERRI WHITE as Stella Deams, the audience went wild!!!!!! Believe me, folks, Terri brought down the house every single night! This gal deserves a TONY!!!!!! We are so thrilled for Terri White and Donna Barnett! I get shivers just thinking about how fabulous a night that was for them! The best news is that Terri and Donna will be returning to Key West soon….In fact, Terri was just added to the Randy Roberts Tenn. WMS show, joining Brent Barrett, George Dvorsky, and Debbie Gravitt! That show will be a WOW! And how fun and exciting that Terri will be teaching tap while she is here in Key West in March! Hope all the Tappers will reunite once again!
