Bet you thought we were playing a pre April Fool’s joke on you yesterday morning, when you woke up and it still had  Tuesday’s events posted….Sorry Wednesday’s events weren’t posted until about 1:30 PM!!!  So…I will go easy on you today…no jokes…just the facts, as Sgt. ST. PAUL’S CONCERT…

Joseph Lowe and Auwina Weed will present their Easter Week FREE concert from Noon until 1:00 PM, today at St. Paul’s Church.  They will do music from Vienna, Mozart, Suppe and Strauss.  Please note, that because of Good Friday, tomorrow, there will be no concert tomorrow, April 2nd.

FLEMING STREET GALLERY SHOW…

This gallery owned and operated by Sheila Mullins, former KW Mayor, will host a reception for artist and sculptor, Susan Johnson, tonight during the Thursday Night Art Walk in the Caroline Street area and environs!  Note that Michael Shields will be interviewing Susan Johnson at 11 AM until Noon on his ArtWaves radio show on KONK 1500 AM station!

THURSDAY ART WALK ON CAROLINE ST….

It’s April 1st, and it happens to be the 1st Thursday of the month…so that means it’s the First Thursday Art Walk in the Caroline St. Art and Design District.  Visit all the great shops, stores, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, etc. which will be open for your pleasure, from 6 until 9:00 PM.  Make sure you pop into Fast Buck Freddy’s home store, see all the fab furniture and accessories, and say Hi to my friend, and sometime dance partner, Jeffrey Grosky!

KEY WEST ART BAR…

…at this eclectic Shop at Caroline and Margaret Sts., artist Stacy Krupa will unveil her latest works tonight…..also Israeli jeweler, Ayala Barr, and Michigan jeweler, Tana Acton.  Gallery Director, Roxanne Blackman, claims they are two of the most unique designers she has ever seen.  In the Secret Spot at the Art Bar, singer, Michelle Dravis will be entertaining, from 8 until Late!

BITCHSLAP….

….continues at The Waterfront Playhouse until April 10th, only!  We saw this show on Tuesday night and enjoyed every moment!  Over the top performances by Christopher Peterson as Bette Davis, Randy Roberts as Joan Crawford, and Vanessa McCaffrey as Hedda Hopper!!  Chris, Randy and Vanessa play their roles to the hilt!  Go online to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org or call the box office at 294-5015 for tickets!

RECEPTION AT THE STUDIOS…

THE KEYS PIANO BAR….

….at 1114 Duval St….is a real KEY-PER!!!!!  It is a most unique bar, where most every person on the wait staff sings and entertains during the course of the evening.

It features the best piano music and vocalists from Key West, New York, Philadelphia, Texas, etc….and it is constantly evolving and changing…never stagnant or dull…always a happening!  The atmosphere is classy and comfy with areas to lounge and relax in, to enjoy cocktails and snacks, and to converse and even canoodle… all in a lovely atmosphere!  Even singer want-to-bes can sing…they just  write down a song they would like to perform and pass it on to the pianist!  And….Voila!  They are Stars for the Moment!  Lots of super discoveries have been made at The KEYS!  Owners, Pat West and Chip Allen have gifted Key West with a very special Piano Bar! 

Tonight from 5:00 PM until 9, the divine Bobby Nesbitt, one of Key West’s most beloved entertainers, will be at the piano and singing all your favorite songs from The Great American Songbook and the Broadway Stage.  Then, from 9 until Closing (about 2 AM), it’s Charlie Lindberg at the piano, and he, too, is TOP drawer!  New York  songstress, Jennifer Pace will wow you with her vocals, and that darling Mark Watson will also be singing and  serving! And a very special guest, TERRI WHITE, will make an appearance too….read on.

TERRI WHITE AT THE KEYS TONIGHT…

Terri White, along with her “other half”…noted jewelry designer, Donna Barnett, are back HOME in Key West for a family visit with Donna’s wonderful children!  They will be stopping by tonight at The KEYS after 9:30 PM, and it will be a real treat for you if you are there.

Terri White used to sing at The KEYS on a regular basis, but she was lured back to New York City and The St. James Theatre (where she once starred in BARNUM) to star in the revival of FINIAN’S RAINBOW!  The show, and Terri, received RAVE reviews….and I can tell you, she was fabulous! We saw the show, and Terri brought down the house with her showstopping song, Necessity!  Now, Terri has been booked to play the part of Matron Mama Morton in New York’s smash hit, CHICAGO, a part that seems to have been written just for Terri White!  She opens on April 26th.  Anyway, we are excited for Terri’s success and elated to have this dynamic duo back in Key West, and Terri will be singing tonight for your pleasure!  If you know Terri, you know what I am talking about…if you have never heard her sing, you are in for something very special!  Hoping to see you there!  Come and give Terri and Donna a warm and wonderful Key West Welcome!

A bunch of us were there on Tuesday night after Bitchslap at The Waterfront Playhouse, and the crowd at The KEYS was treated to one of those really special magical Key West nights!!!!  It was a night of surprise entertainment with Terri, Christopher Peterson, Randy Roberts, and Michael McCabe, performing all night long! Everyone was in rare form.. and what fun to have Mark Watson join Randy and Christopher in “You Gotta Have a Gimmick” from Gypsy!

SQUARE ONE RESTAURANT…

….Had a wonderful dinner at this top class restaurant last night, with Terri White and Donna Barnett.  Owner Michael Stewart, is all class…he runs a super establishment!  Chef Andrew is super!
