DEAR READERS…..Happy New Year One and All! Hoping you each had a wonderful ringing in of 2013! We spent New Year’s Eve with our son, Rob and granddaughter, Lexy…He finally got to dine on the fab crab claws he remembers having at The Rusty Anchor many years ago…..glad that so many of you got to meet them while we were out and about this past week! I was a tourist again as we went to the Butterfly Conservatory, the Hemingway House, the Aquarium, Malory Square, etc…..This town is filled with so many marvelous ‘events.’ We loved strolling up Duval St. running into some great friends, like Fr. John Baker & his family, and then seeing the fantastic fireworks at South Beach at 10 pm. Of course we ended up at Lateda and Rob & Lexy got to meet many of our wonderful Key West Family who were there!!!! No doubt they left Key West (this morning at 2:30 am) with great memories!

LE PETIT PARIS CAFÉ, OPENS ITS DOORS…..This new restaurant opened 6 weeks ago at 825 Duval St. It is delicious in so many ways. Its owner, Robert Konopka, formerly of Tavern ‘N Town, is brimming with ideas and is a total delight. The place is immaculate, decorated beautifully, and the food is delish… with a young chef who knows what she is doing in the kitchen. Hours are from 8 am till midnight every day and they do free delivery between 9 am and midnight in Old Town. They specialize in serving organic & natural food….Right now the menu is lots of salads, great crepes and omelets, wonderful drinks and coffees…and all served by the gorgeous Simona! You can dine indoors or on the patio with umbrella tables…..Right now you can bring your own bottle of wine for dinner….soon they will be adding a beer & wine bar….An added bonus is that there is parking! 8TH ANNUAL KW DACHSHUND WALK …..This has really become quite the event! Hundreds and hundreds of dachshunds, and dachshund wannabees, marched in a now, police escorted parade, and headed by Grand Marshal, Ruth Reiter, founder of this fun Parade! Glad that our son and granddaughter got to experience this event! I loved the little dog who had a sign on him that read….”My girlfriend is a Dachshund!” And Billy Cartledge ended the parade with his adorable float that held the famous LOLA, who made national news! The paparazzi were out in full force!

MOTIONHOUSE DANCE CO. ON JAN. 25…..This fabulous and exciting UK Dance Co. is on tour in the USA and is coming to the Tennessee Williams for one night only on Jan. 25 at 8 pm. With the help of a wonderful donor & the Florida Hearing Loop Systems, our theater goers who are hearing impaired can come to the theater and hear every word onstage!!!! The entire stage picks up sound & transmits it wirelessly to T-Coil enabled hearing aids as well as cochlear implant users. The system also came with loaner portable receivers and headsets for hearing impaired individuals who do not have aids or T-Coil equipped hearing aids. The quality of the system has been tested and the signal is extraordinary!
