DEAR READERS…
After three weeks in Ohio, we will be heading back to Key West on Sunday. Before that, we will be visiting our children, Melissa and Rob, in the Chicago area. Our time in Ohio has been well spent. We have spent quality time with my dear Mother, Adele Stevens, and, although she is definitely on the downside of her life, she is hanging in there, is very determined, and I think she will be going on for a whole lot longer. Our visits were akin to being on a roller coaster…sometimes lovely and sweet…and other times, filled with angst and concern. Thanks to each of you who have been so supportive. It means a lot. And now….It’s time for…..

THE KEYS PIANO BAR….
1114 Duval St…..Summer hours are now in effect! The fab Bobby Nesbitt begins piano music at 7 PM until 9:00 PM…….Greg Schlotthauer begins at the piano at 9 until Closing with Jenifer Kruskamp, on hand with her great vocals at 9PM! Bobby Nesbitt, had Jenifer sing with him last night and he said “She has the voice of an Angel.” Very true! It is quite wonderful!!!!!! Note that The KEYS will be open from 7 until closing only 5 nights a week…closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
JUNE IS ADOPT A CAT MONTH…
The FKSPCA has some wonderful adult Cats for adoption for Free…they are spayed or neutered…have all shots….microchips….all through the month of June! Note that all year long, those 60 years old and up can adopt a cat for Free. Visit the Spca on Stock Island at 5230 College Rd, from 10 to 6 PM Mon.-Fri., and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays. OIL SPILL MEETING…
At 8:00 PM…..there will be an important meeting at Sippins’, located at 424 Eaton St…..about shore watch, shore clean up, and Adopt-a-Mangrove volunteer sign up. Lots of knowledgable people will be there to answer questions and concerns, including Dr. Patrick Rice, Ph.D. Dean of Marine Science & The Technology at FKCC. Reps from our local govt., the Coast Guard, NOAA, etc. will be there to help. Pass this on!
