DEAR READERS….Hurray!!! We are back home In Key West Florida….and it is always great joy to return to this magical place I fell in love with in back in 1985!!! After a truly marvelous summer in Chippewa Lake, Ohio….after we saw many of the trees change color….guess what? It started to get cold. So, we packed up the car to the gills, closed dear Rose Cottage and began our trek to KW last Tuesday….Since we have been back, we have been madly unpacking that loaded car, organizing, cleaning closets, tidying up the yard (It’s like a jungle here!), repotting, trimming, chopping down immense growth, etc….it is endless….But somehow we have managed to attend some wonderful fun events and some heart-touching ones too. It is really wonderful to be amongst our Key West Family once again!!! We are looking forward to sharing a memorable 2015-16 Season with you!!!!

 

JOE LISZKA……Of course you all know that we lost one of Key West’s best on Oct. 14, the wonderful Joe Liszka! My heart aches with this sad news. Joe was quite a fellow …not only a handsome man, but smart and fun and so delightful to be around! We had the pleasure to be at his 85th birthday in February, and he looked elegant as ever! He was very moved by the love that was poured out for him on that special day, and we were overwhelmed with his response. God bless Joe Liszka. He will be deeply missed! Note that he and his partner of many years, the late great Frank Romano, were founders of Fantasy Fest! I hope that he will be so recognized and remembered at this year’s Fantasy Fest!!!!

HELPLINE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS….Switchboard 211/Helpline of the Keys is in the process of restarting their reassurance all program to give homebound and senior citizens a daily dose of human companionship. MEMORIAL FOR NANCY ROBINSON, WAS OCT.18….I want to acknowledge the beautiful and heartfelt Celebration of the Life of NANCY ROBINSON, that was held at the MCC Church on Oct. 18. The Church was bursting at the seams with those who adored Nancy and whom they were all blessed to know. There were gorgeous and moving musical and vocal tributes performed by FIONA MOLLOY, CW COLT, GAYLA MORGAN, LARRY BAEDER, BARRY CUDA and FRANK WOOD….Beautiful personal memories and anecdotes were shared throughout and our hearts were all touched as we remembered our own very special memories of this amazing and wonderful woman. THE LIBRA PERSONALITY…SEPTEMBER 24 THRU OCTOBER 22

On first meeting a Libran, your impression will be of someone who is charming, diplomatic, and eager to put you at ease. Harmony is very important for Librans. They hate it when tempers flare or the atmosphere is tense and they won’t relax until things are on an even keel. Librans like balance in their lives, although they desperately try to control the situation. Librans do very well in areas of love. Librans have a powerful need for other people and they feel like fish out of water when they are too long on their own. They can be very loving, affectionate and romantic. They are hard to resist. Librans are much happier IN a relationship than out of one…they will endure a lot of misery and heartache rather than make the final break and be left on their own. It is easy to hurt a Libran’s feelings, though they will do their best to put on a brave face. Librans are known to fall in love with love…they are hopeless romantics. They are also very idealistic and prefer to see only the good in others. They often turn a blind eye to their partner’s faults. They tend to put their beloved on a pedestal and are crushed when this person disappoints them and reveals that they are human after all. The best signs for a Libran are another Libran, Leo, Gemini, Sagittarius and Taurus.

Librans enjoy the high life and need plenty of money to afford it. They want a good job that brings in lots of cash. They prefer to be a part of a Team rather than to work alone. Professions they are good at include diplomacy, fashion, beauty and music. They love spending money on themselves and those they love…. What they really would like is to inherit a fortune or win the lottery!!!!
