MONDAY & TUESDAY, MAY 2 & 3, 2011, in KEY WEST WITH LYNDA!!!!

GOD BLESS OUR GREAT NATION!                         What amazing news to find out just before bedtime tonight, of the demise of Osama Bin Laden.  The world will be a better and safer world without him indeed!
THE WEEK THAT WAS!!!!                        What a jam packed week of activity!  Hope you had a chance to take in some of the non-stop Conch Republic Independence Celebration activities.  And, hope you got to hear some of the sensational Singer/Songwriters who were performing all over Key West since Wednesday for the Festival.  On Saturday, Bob and I had a busy evening.  We began it at Tavern ‘N Town to have dinner, while listening to the superb Bobby Nesbitt entertain in the Lounge.  Afterward, we headed to the final concert performed by the Keys Chorale.  Congrats to Dean Walters and  the Chorale members who put their hearts and souls into these concerts.  Special recognition to Margaret Domanski, Maj Johnson, Heather Carruthers, Ginny Barr, Sandy Herndon,  and all the other soloists who did such a great job.   From there we met the Camerons at Lateda….Patrick & Debra were in the By George Bar and the dance floor was packed!  And just when we thought about leaving, we decided to head for the BottleCap at Midnight for the Singer/Songwriter Late Night Hang…. People were hanging by the rafters, but bless sweetheart owner, Carolyn Sulllivan, who found us two stools to sit on at the bar right by Tommy Luna.  We stayed for about 2 hours and heard some dynamite new singers who wowed everyone there!  This has been quite an event for Key West and we know lots of these talented people from Nashville fell in love with Key West!!!  Finally got home and fell into dreamland pretty quickly.  Just another typical day in Key West!

COLOMBIAN GRACE RESTAURANT……                  Hey folks, there’s this wonderful GEM of a restaurant on Petronia St. called COLOMBIAN GRACE…..It is between Blue Heaven and Santiago’s Bodega.  If you haven’t tried it out, I urge you to give it a whirl.  The thing is, the adorable and passionate owner, Zulma Sugera, serves up some really delish food….at breakfast/lunch and dinner!  We stopped there the other evening, and were glad to see the restaurant pretty busy….everyone was raving over their meals….and rightly so.  Their preparation of yellow tail is scrumptious….and Mom’s Casserole, grouper in a fabulous cheese sauce is memorable!  Wine, beer & Sangria are served….superb salads….Bob and I HIGHLY recommend Colombian Grace…..tell Zulma we sent you!  This is one of those rare restaurants where we have never had a bad meal!  Please try it out!

HELP KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL WITH OPERATION GRADUATION….               Thus far $9,000 has been collected for Operation Graduation for the senior class…an all night event providing a safe, alcohol & drug free celebration….a night of music, dancing, movies, games, fun and food. Everyone is asked to help, as it takes a great effort to make this happen.  However….it takes $11,00 MORE DOLLARS  for this event to be put on.  If the money isn’t raise the event will be cancelled.  If everyone on my list contributed $15. Each, we could say we gave our graduating seniors a wonderful and safe time!  Think about it….and send whatever you can to this Fund!
