DEAR READERS……Please know that my heart is heavy. My beloved sister-in-law, Nancy Stevens, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, about 8:45 pm. She had been dealing with a glioblastoma brain tumor and was confined to her bed at Holy Family Cancer Center in Ohio since Thanksgiving. She was holding her own until this past Saturday when she took a turn for the worse….stopped eating and her body functions began shutting down. Her daughter Sally and son-in-law Robert were with her at the end. We will be heading to Ohio next Wednesday, for the funeral which will be held on March 23 (wake) and March 24 (burial Mass). If we see you around during this next week, I will be like the clown…laughing on the outside and crying on the inside…..I thank you for your caring and concern. This has been a very rough 18 months for our family and I thank you for your support and understanding. I loved Nancy like a sister and will miss her all the days of my life. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE….DON’T MISS IT!!!!!…MARCH 15 THRU APRIL 7…..We were elated to attend the opening night of this wonderful and delightful new musical on Thursday, March 8th and again yesterday…. at The Waterfront Playhouse! Having never seen it before, I didn’t know what to expect. I had heard lots of good things about it and trust me….it exceeded all of my expectations! From the start it brings a smile to your face and joy to your heart and it never lets go. Danny Weathers deserves more accolades for bringing this enjoyable show to our stage, for choosing such a marvelous cast, and for his spot on direction! The set design by Michael Boyer is another stroke of artistic genius. The actors and their performances are simply fabulous! Great singing and acting….it’s non-stop laughing and even some heart string pulling thrown in for good measure, as you get caught up in the personal stories of these young “spelling champs.” Congratulations to this sensational group of actors….each perfectly cast for their character……Gayla Morgan, Joe McMurray, Eric Cole, Kristen Michelle, Jessica Miano Kruel, Kennedy Pugh, Marc Crow, Justin Ahearn and Rebecca Green. Musical director is the always superb, Michael Fauss, with perfect choreography by Penny Leto, and costumes by Leigh Hooten. This show runs Tues. thru Sat. until April 7th!!! This is a MUST on your to do list!!! It is a great show to take all your house guests to. You and they will LOVE it and you will thank me later! REVIEW ON GORDON ROSS SHOW ON MARCH 9….Just want to mention that we were at Gordon’s Cabaret show on March 9th at Tennessee Williams…and he did a marvelous job! Relaxed, cool, in great voice he charmed everyone with some wonderful song choices! Congrats to Gordon on yet another feather in his cap! What a special fellow he is!
