FREE MARATHON FISHING SEMINAR JULY 20, 2010
“THE ART OF CAST NETTING BAIT”
The 7 Mile Marina and Captain Hook’s Marina have joined forces to host a new series of FREE fishing seminars. “The Art of Cast Netting Bait” is the topic for an informative evening scheduled for Tuesday, July 20 from 6 to 8 pm at the 7 Mile Marina, MM 47.5 Gulfside, in Marathon.
One of the secrets to catching a wide variety of Florida Keys fish species is using live bait such as mullet, pilchards, ballyhoo, threadfin herring and more. Cast netting to acquire live bait is a preferred method among charter captains.
Join the charter captains of the 7 Mile Marina and Captain Hook’s Marina as they demonstrate the art of cast netting. Gain knowledge of which baitfish are appropriate for targeting various species. Learn tips and techniques to net large quantities of baitfish to stock the live well for productive fishing.
The Marathon Fishing Seminar series is FREE and open to the public. A different topic will be covered from 6 to 8 pm on alternate Tuesdays at the 7 Mile Marina. Complementary appetizers provided by Salty’s Waterfront Grill.
