The 47th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regimental Band, Dr. Michael O'Connor, Manager
Historical comments accompany the concert with Dr. Michael O'Connor's esteemed musicians performing on
period instruments in St Peter's church on Friday, followed by the reenactment at Ft. Zachary Taylor on Saturday
Symphonic Virtuosos – Maestro Richard Prior Conducts Friday, Mar. 9, 8 pm
Select orchestral and chamber works, including among others, the Mozart Clarinet Concerto performed by Dominic Giardino, 2011 Music in Paradise Awards Winner, and the celebrated Magic Flute “Queen of the Night” aria by Kim Gordon. English-born Emory Symphony Orchestra Director and Pulitzer- nominated composer, Richard Prior conducts the MiP Chamber Orchestra.
Handel's Messiah: The Easter Section Maundy Thursday, Apr. 5, 8 pm
Key West's talented choral and instrumental musicians share the despair and ecstasy of the final
movements of Handel's oratorio for Holy Week.
The 2012 Music in Paradise Awards and Concert Friday, May 11, 8 pm
The 2nd Annual Awards and Concert recognizes Key West's most talented young performers, nominated by their teachers, selected by committee and presented in concert to receive well- deserved community and professional acclaim and awards.
