Key West Fly Fishing
Casting a fly to a tailing Permit is half the fun. If the Permit is hungry and eats your crab fly, then you are in for a real powerful fight!
When hooked Permit tend to run in a zig zag fashion with their powerful fins looking for structure to help break free. This fish had the crab fly in the corner of its mouth.
Permit should be carefully released once they have been revived and get their strength back.
Hang on tight to the tail until the fish is ready to shake you, then let the fish swim to freedom!
This particular fish has just been released and is slowly swimming away to freedom.
