DEAR READERS……So sorry that I did not send my usual blog out, but I was away on holiday….Bob and I recently spent 6 wonderful days in NYC overdosing on Broadway Shows, and celebrating our wedding anniversary there on Aug. 22. In 6 days we somehow managed to squeeze in 8 shows….all wonderful and memorable! From #1 1 to #8….here are my choices…. #1, SOMETHING ROTTEN….#2, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS ….#3, BEAUTIFUL…#4, AMAZING GRACE …#5 THE KING & I …#6, A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER…#7…A CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME…#8, FUN HOME! If I could have, I would have seen Something Rotten and Paris again….as soon as they were over! LOVED them madly!!!! We also lucked out with great weather, delicious meals and we got to hook up with some dear friends while we were there, including, Paul Smith, Pat West & Chip Allen, Linda & Fred Greenberg, Gayla Morgan, George Sanders & Shawn Curran, plus Alison Nusbaum, Karl Held, Joe Regan, Michael Isaacs, Ann Reynolds, and Bobby Peaco, whom we actually ran into on the street!!!!! It is a small world after all!!!!

THE TROPHIA BUTTERFLY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM…NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!….This Foundation has been beautifying Key West for many years….Glorious gardens have been established to attract visitors and locals alike…. They have enhanced the splendor of Key West. The Board is now about to focus more on an educational mission. In short, The Foundation wants to raise awareness of what is happening to the gorgeous Monarch butterflies….for they are in great danger. Pesticides are eliminating the milkweed plants that are the only source of food for their larvae & the population of Monarchs has been severely impacted. It has been decided that the way to make a change is to start with our school children….The Foundation is proposing to create ‘THE MONARCH UNIVERSITY” an on-line tool that can be used to teach children about the wonders of butterflies and the dangers facing them. A Kickstarter campaign has been set up to raise necessary funds to create the first segment of the University & distribute it to schools thru the nation. AMANDAH JANTZEN AT CHICAGO’S……MONDAYS THRU FRIDAY EVERY WEEK …This super cool Jazz singer is at CHICAGO’S at 610 Greene St, across from the Raw Bar….She performs from 4:30 to 7:30 pm for happy hour, Mon. thru Thurs…and 5 to 8 pm on Fri…It is themed around the windy city, CHICAGO….and there is music seven nights a week, usually blues bands and jazz happy hours five days a week. TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXHIBIT:…..Admission is FREE….Self-guided tours are available to locals and visitors at the Tennessee Williams Exhibit located at 513 Truman just off Duval. THE VIRGO PERSONALITY….AUGUST 24-SEPTEMBER 23
Virgos are perfectionists!  They like to do things properly and are furious with themselves if they think they have turned in a second rate job.  They will fiddle with something endlessly, trying to improve on what they have already done very well.  They worry about tiny details ….may even wake in the middle of the night thinking of what they may have forgotten to do…and of course they have a hard time falling back to sleep!  But when you want something done, who do you turn to?  The Virgo, every time!!  Virgos take a very practical approach to life, making them methodical, efficient, and sensible.  They are a tower of strength in a crisis. People rely on them but they also take them for granted.
Virgo’s are famous for their modesty….they have so many positives about them, but they seem to see only their shortcomings.  The Virgo sees minor faults as major flaws.    They are always wondering ‘why can’t I be tidier…neater…more organized?’….Virgos have very high standards, and they apply these rigorously, sometimes seeming harsh and unsympathetic. Just remember, the Virgo may be tough on you, but they are even tougher on themselves!
The Virgo will choose classic clothes, in conservative colors, rather than the latest fads.  They prefer to look neat, polished and rarely do they look messy…even if they have been up all night.
