DEAR READERS…..         As we settle in at Rose Cottage, we begin to understand more and more why it is important for us to be here every year.  The weather is getting sunnier, with cool nights….we love to hear the chirping of the various birds.  A cardinal has built a masterpiece of a nest in our hydrangea tree, and she is guarding her 4 eggs with fervor.  I still have lots of yard work to do, but things are falling in place.  My brother Ed and his family will be here for the July 4th weekend…it will be good to see him.  Of course, the empty feeling that my Mom and my brother Fred will not be here, is always there.  And life goes on…..

CAMP BRAVO PRESENTS ON JUNE 30TH…..       The first session Performance of Camp Bravo will present  two extraordinary musicals, “Circus Circus” and “Welcome to the Jungle.”Performances will be on Thurs., 6/30 at 7:00 PM at the Waterfront Playhouse.  Children of the Community, ages 4 to 14 yrs., will be starring.  The show is FREE, and fun-filled for ALL ages!  Note that the 2nd session of Camp Bravo starts on July 5th (Tues) at the Waterfront Playhouse.  Although there is still availability, spots are filling up quickly.  If you have kiddies between the ages of 5 and 14, and are looking for a fun theatrical summer activity, please contact Robin Kaplan at 305-294-7382.

VINCENT MELENDY GIVES THANKS….. “I am very grateful that I met George Poulin, or Papa George, as everyone called him. He was my wife, Kathy’s father, who just passed away to be with his wife Alice. He would brighten your day with his pleasant smile….always quick to tell you one of his many jokes, or show you one of his napkin-folding tricks. He spent many a day in Key West and celebrated lots of picnics with the morning Bayview Tennis Group. A favorite memory is of him dancing on the tennis court while several of us tried to sing “YMCA” on a Karaoke machine. He was only 89 at the time. George died at age 96.”

CONGRATS TO GAYLA MORGAN……            Gayla Morgan has written a musical about Mary Magdalene, called Mary the Musical, and she has been in NYC casting this production which will be presented in NY on July 19th.
