I AM THANKFUL….
….for each of you, who has been so kind…..sending me warm and caring messages, reaching out with understanding and compassion ….in regard to my dear Mother, Adele….and now concerning Bob’s bike spill. Bob could not get in to see the orthopedic surgeon until Monday of next week….in the meantime he is coping with his “cast” and the inconvenience. He did say he finally had a good night’s sleep last night, and for that I am also thankful! I also want to give thanks for Noreen Collins… for showing up to visit my mother today…..Noreen is my dearest of girlfriends…former roommate at OSU, and the reason Bob and I first came to Key West. She is also very special to my Mom, and it meant so much to me to have her there today to help brighten Mom’s day.

A group of chess enthusiast checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. “But why?,” they asked, as they moved off. ‘BECAUSE,” he said….’I CAN’T STAND CHESS-NUTS BOASTING IN AN OPEN FOYER.” (thanks Tom Cawley!)
