DEAR READERS…… It is that bittersweet time again in my life…..when we get ready to leave our beloved Key West and head for Rose Cottage in Chippewa Lake, Ohio. We are packing up, getting the car loaded and doing all those things one does when leaving. It is always an emotional time for me….saying adieu to Key West is never easy. Now, once we are in our sweet cottage, I am delighted to be there once again, and I know why I have to be there, as it holds a special magic all its own. For awhile, my Daily will be taking a back seat to our travel plans. Be patient, I will be sending things to you when I am able to, and if not, please keep checking the website at www.conchtv.com. Keep sending me your info and I will do my best to get it out to everyone. Know that I love you all!
HOME TOWN PAC MEETING ON JUNE 27….. This event was changed from June 20 to June 27th…..Sorry if there was any confusion. This will be a Meet the Candidate Night at 5 pm at Salute Restaurant at Higg’s Beach…The social portion is at 5 pm…. canidates begin speeches at 5:30 pm. JOSEPH LOWE CONCERT AT ST. PAUL’S EVERY WEEKDAY…..Mon.-Fri. Joe Lowe presents his FREE piano and organ concert from Mon. thru Fri. from noon to 1 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Duval & Eaton St. I stopped in last Thursday afternoon and was delighted to see about 30 people enjoying the beautiful Strauss waltzes played by Joe and Auwina Weed! Four hands on a single piano….a lovely effect! Give it a try…you will love it.

We caught Christopher Peterson’s EYECONS Show, along with a full house of adoring fans, and we never stopped smiling and laughing! He is one-of-a-kind, and Key West is blessed to have him back. CONGRATS TO DEBORAH GOLDMAN!!!! Monroe County artist, Deborah Goldman, is one of only ten artists who won the SFCC, $15,000 Fellowship Award. The South FLA Cultural Consortium, an alliance of the local arts agencies of various counties, presents this award based on the creative excellence of the artists. The recipients were selected during a 2-tier panel process which included regional and national arts experts. An exhibit featuring the works of the ten recipients, including DEBORAH, will be at the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood, 1650 Harrison St., Hollywood, FL, from Sept. 9 thru Oct. 16, 2011. My own personal comment, is that Deborah is not only a marveloous and deserving winner of this award, but a really lovely and delightful person who deserves all the accolades she receives!
