She is at 1219 Pearl St., Key West, Fl 33040. DIANE MAY is recovering from recent surgery. She is at 623 Petronia St., Key West, FL 33040. And KATE MIANO has pneumonia….526 Angela St., Key West, FL 33040. If you cannot send a card, please take time to send good vibes and prayers their way…or if you have their email, send them a message of cheer. These four ladies are all wonderful and could use your support.
**SPRINGTIME WEEK #8 OF AQUA IDOL, MARCH 8!!!…And our contestants are….Drum roll, please!!!!!….. TREY FORSYTH …ALEXIS LARSEN … BILL MELCHIOR …DESTINY MONTGOMERY …FIONA MOLLOY …ROCK SOLOMON ……NINA NEWTON …NANCY ROUSE …AND NIKOLA CZERNYI!!!! Sadly we had to say goodbye to Jeff Egleston who dropped out of the competition last week. This week we will lose another contestant and next week we will most likely lose 2 or 3! We only have March 8, 15 and 22 left…Mark your calendars for the Grand Finale on March 22…. Our Top 4 will sing their hearts out for the coveted title of Aqua Idol….only what they earn that night will determine the order of First thru Fourth. Also, HOWARD LIVINGSTON will be the guest judge that night and will also entertain! Remember, the person (or persons) earning the least amount of tip money one week is (are) eliminated the following week. That is why it is important that you vote for your fave contestant with dollars to keep them in the contest. If you cannot be there and want to support a vocalist, you can vote online, which is very easily done and explained below. Whatever amount is received online by 5pm on March 8 will be added to the container bucket at the end of the evening. Our vocalists sing some great songs to Standing Room Only Audiences so do come early……. 711 Duval St. Laurie Thibaud is the terrific emcee. On March 8, joining Tony Konrath and me as judge for the first time ever is author, comedian, actor BOB PERLOW who was the warm up guy for Jay Leno and for many popular sitcoms on TV. He is in town promoting his new book, ‘The WarmUp Guy.” Former contestant Greg Chaplin was going to do a guest appearance, but his wife, Basia ended up in a Miami Hospital. Wish them well. Hope to see you there!!!!
SMOKING AT AQUA…..Thankfully, there are no longer ashtrays present on the tables or booths at Aqua anymore….meaning that any smoking that once was it at a huge minimum. The few people who are smokers, seem to go outside now to smoke at the back bar or out on Duval. Most of the regulars who come week after week say there is ‘No longer a problem in regard to smoking!’ So please give us a try!

Whether you can be physically there at Aqua Nightclub from week to week to hear your fave vocalists or not….we have made it very easy for you to vote for your favorite vocalists from week to week. This is how it is done…. Go to the Waterfront Playhouse website at www.waterfrontplayhouse.org. Scroll down until you see the ad for Aqua Idol….Click that image….You will then see various subjects at the top. Go to Support and then hit Donate Online. You will see Donation Details….plus the name of Alexis Larsen….one of our contestants. Hit the arrow next to her name, and all names of the 15 contestants will appear. Hit the name you are donating money toward, and then fill out the options of credit card use from then on. It is very easy. Thanks for your generous support of The Waterfront Playhouse!!!! Hope to see you at Aqua Tuesday…but if you cannot be there, please vote for your faves!!! (Note…On Aqua Idol Tuesdays, at 5:00 pm, Gary Symons, Waterfront Playhouse Business Manager, will run a report for all donations for the contestants since the previous Aqua Idol Tuesday. Those totals will then be added to the bucket totals for that Tuesday’s Aqua Idol….For instance….if a person received $50 in bucket money on Tuesday and $50 in online donations that would be like getting $100. that week. This is NOT cumulative, so this will be done for each remaining contestant on each Aqua Idol Tuesday.)

WE ARE HONORED BY SAMUEL’S HOUSE ON MARCH 10TH…..Every year Samuel’s House has a special Dinner to honor ‘Women of Integrity and Men of Valor’…This year, I am humbled to have been recognized, along with my husband, Bob….as an honoree in the category of Contribution to the Performing Arts. Other honorees this year, in various categories are Kate Miano, George Fernandez, Sydney Hamilton, David Horan, Tom Luna, Joel Meisel, Esther Tupino, Michael Ingram, and Deglys Chavarria. CAN YOU BE A HOUSING HERO FOR THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE?….There is a big need to house a musician who will be playing for the musical, “The Producers” at the Waterfront Playhouse. His name is Max Zemanovic, the drummer in the orchestra. Dates he needs accommodations are Feb. 26 thru March 26. If you have guest accommodations and can provide assistance please contact Kevin Melloncamp at 305-294-7776. There are benefits to being a Housing Hero and you can check on the website at http://www.waterfrontplayhouse.org/housing-heroes/. In addition, we provide a charitable donation letter with the value of $125 per night of housing provided. If you can only put up Max for two weeks, that is fine….we could hopefully find someone else who can put him up for the other two weeks needed.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE!!! …On March 6, The Waterfront Playhouse threw a wonderful truly FUN party at Ft. Zach Beach. The atmosphere was casual and all the revelers had a great time! We danced all night long….the weather was in our favor…..the food by the Iron Chefs was again delish and plentiful…..and the drinks flowed…..It was non-stop fun and laughter… Thank you to the dynamo in charge, KRISTEN RYAN…..and her helper crew…..who thought of everything. It was super that so many from the Producers Cast were there to enjoy the evening!!! I want to thank all who attended to support our theater! We love you!

TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXHIBIT:…..Admission is FREE….Self-guided tours are available to locals and visitors at the Tennessee Williams Exhibit located at 513 Truman just off Duval. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm…Mon.-Sat. Many new items are on display, including memorabilia collected while the Exhibit was on loan to the Museo Nacional De Bellas Artes in Havana, Cuba…..Also on display is Williams’ 1932 Univ. of Mo. Yearbook, Savitar, in which one of his early poems is given a full page. Videos provide info about the life & work of the iconic author who made KW home for 34 years.
