From 10 AM to 9 PM…there will be a Caribbean Street Fair, presented by Helpline. Much of Duval St. will be closed for traffic and transformed into an open-air market, selling arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing, food, etc. FUN!

This is not Pamplona….but it is Key West’s take on this yearly Spanish event…You can only find the Bulls our Papas are riding on, in Key West! Afterward, there will be a huge cake outside of Sloppy Joe’s to celebrate Ernest’s July 21st birthday, a tad belatedly, KW style!
LOOK-ALIKE CONTEST….FREE…
At 6:30 PM, it’s the final round of this Contest. Trust me, even if Hemingway himself, entered the contest for the first time this year, he would NOT make the cut. It seems the entrants have to compete for at least 8 years before being accepted into this Society of Papas! But they do have great fun! And I just love seeing Hemingways all over the Island….many from different countries!

5 K run through Old Town KW…Racers start at the Southernmost Point on Whitehead. Awards ceremony is scheduled after the race at Southernmost Hotel.

THE DISH ON CHRISTOPHER PETERSON!!!!
I had heard a rumor about Christopher Peterson, star of Lateda’s EYECONS Show. And, now, after speaking with Christopher last evening, I can confirm that the rumor is True. He will be departing Key West with his new and exciting Stage Show, and heading for Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, he and James have already purchased a townhome near the Strip, and he is presently in negotiations, with various Clubs. Christopher has been performing in different places all summer, and these last two years he has put together a spectacular show befitting of Vegas! He will be back in Key West Oct. 1. On October 23, 24 and 25, he will be presenting his final three shows in KW at The Waterfront Playhouse, and The Waterfront is honored that he has chosen it’s stage for his Key West swan song. Then, it is off to Vegas…a new life…and a planned opening night there on January 1st, 2011! We are very excited for Christopher….he is so very talented and brilliant….and we can only wish him the very best. It is we, in Key West, who will sorely miss him and his fabulous talents! This special show, at The Red Barn Theatre, takes place tonight at 8:00 PM! It is the culmination of Carole MacCartee’s Acting Class and Workshop….her 19th season….There will be 4 scenes presented, and 3 monologues. All invited….and it is FREE! This show will also be presented on Sunday at 8 PM! Carole has informed me that her students have worked VERY hard and are ready to perform for your pleasure. She has a great reputation as a teacher and for bringing the best out of her students.
