FAREWELL TO OUR DEAR LARRY HARVEY!!!!….If you saw me from 10:30 am until about 5 pm on May 19, you most likely saw me in tears! We attended the beautiful Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Church, to honor the Key West Legend, LARRY HARVEY, who passed away after a brief illness, at age 91. I kept thinking how fabulous Larry was on April 4, celebrating his 91st birthday at Aqua Nightclub….and then a month later losing him as we have. At his birthday he was in great voice….singing song after song, better than ever….and then, telling amazing stories wowing all of us with his recall of minute facts and details and making us all roar with laughter. But sadly, that was his last hurrah! He ended up in the hospital on Easter Sunday night, on May 8, and went through a roller-coaster ride of health issues. The service at St. Paul’s Church was most fitting dear Larry. Bobby Nesbitt was at the piano playing all of Larry’s most beloved songs…..Joe Lowe, took over at the start of the service. The priest, Rev. Larry Hooper was wonderful…gave a brilliant and heartfelt eulogy on Larry….the choir was amazing there was not a dry eye in the church when they sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone”…one of Larry’s favorite pieces. The church was filled with friends who were truly Family to Larry….he was so loved and cared for. How special that Tom Ruppell, who looked after and loved Larry like a Father, carried Larry’s ashes down the aisle. And we were all glad that Larry’s long time partner, Alan Ferguson, was able to leave the Convalescent Center for awhile and be at the service for his precious Larry! After the service and burial…and a reception in the hall, there was a beautiful Celebration of Larry’s life at The Hemingway House where Larry had worked for 35 years…..It was catered by Square One…..lovely round tables under a white tent were on the lovely grounds…..Bobby Nesbitt and Skipper Kripitz were doing the music….and then later on, Melody Cooper and Michael Thomas! Wonderful talks were given by those in attendance….people shared their unique memories of Larry and more tears fell…..The tables centerpieces were just wonderful too…..the staff at The Hemingway House went all out to make this day an event that Larry Harvey would have adored! It was very obvious that he was deeply loved by everyone associated with The Hemingway House….they spoke glowingly of Larry and how much he meant to everyone there. A special thank you to Dave Gonzalez, the events director at Hemingway House. He planned and organized everything and it was done with total class and much love indeed! How really grand it was to see our dear Billy Buckets who flew in from Puerto Rico to be at the service and the celebration. Larry truly loved Billy and was devastated when he left Key West, as we all were. But there he was, looking handsome as ever, tears in his eyes, and enjoying the great reception and welcome home he got from everyone there! I know Larry was beaming in heaven that Billy was there, and he was loving every single second of this celebration!

Love to YOU……All that truly matters in the end….is that you loved!

This is one of the liveliest and most vibrant signs of the Zodiac.  Geminis are mercurial, bright, and terrific company.  Even better, they never seem to age…  always seeming to look younger than they actually are.  They also have a much more youthful attitude to life than their contemporaries. Geminis love to keep up with the latest trends and their insatiable curiosity keeps them interested and interesting!
The growth of the Internet and the tech revolution is a real gift to Geminis as it has opened new and exciting ways to communicate.  How did they ever get along without cell phones and computers, they wonder!!!  The love keeping in contact with people, e-mailing with family and friends all over the world.  They love chatting and relating to people….becoming friends with everyone they encounter.  They love being first with the news!  Geminis are very eloquent….born communicators.  They do have a low boredom threshold and must be enthralled with something to concentrate on one thing for very long.  Thus, many started projects often are left unfinished.
Versatility is a Gemini’s middle name!  They can tackle most things, are very adaptable, though it sometimes will turn to moodiness and inconsistency. There are days when a Gemini’s emotions dip down dramatically, when they do not want to speak to a soul.  That is rare, though, because most days they can’t be pried off the phone.  Geminis also tend to change their opinions on things quite often…it’s what makes them such interesting persons to have around.
A Gemini is happiest when dealing with ideas rather than emotions.  Dealing with emotions makes a Gemini embarrassed and tongue-tied.  Those who wear their hearts on their sleeve make a Gemini wince.  They have a huge problem being in a relationship with anyone who is clingy or possessive.  This is a real turn off for them.  Even so, a Gemini’s popularity is sky high.  People adore their sunny nature, their ready laugh and their fascinating conversation.  Their friends and lovers must be on the same intellectual level as they are.  They need to be with those who make them think.  No matter how attractive they might be, the Gemini will not stay with them if they are a big bore, not very bright, or don’t have a good sense of humor.
Geminis are ideal candidates for any job in the media, the communications industry, advertising, or sales.  They like careers that involve travel….they also like being self-employed and in charge of things.
