I AM THANKFUL ON THURSDAY….I am thankful to have welcomed two dear friends back to Key West for brief but wonderful visits…Claire Carroll and Donna Barnett! I am thankful for the great turnout to greet them at Tavern ‘N Town last Saturday evening…a real love in permeated every nook and cranny of the room….I am thankful for Ric Palmer who runs such a super restaurant there….what a feast and for the super music of Bobby Nesbitt that night. I am thankful for Bobby in the Lobby shows and I hope they never end!!!! I am thankful that so many friends of Mary Jo DaSilva came to celebrate her memory on Jan., 10, her birthday, at Lateda! And….I am thankful that I was able to snag two of the last 2 tickets available to see August: Osage County for the 3rd glorious time on Thursday, at the Waterfront Playhouse! And, of course, I am very thankful for the great group of fans who went to Aqua Nightclub to enjoy our amazing contestants for Aqua Idol for the Waterfront Playhouse! What a great night! AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY AT WATERFRONT…LAST WEEK TO SEE……We were thrilled to see this masterpiece of a play on opening night, again on Dec, 28 & will see it on Thursday, Jan. 12 (tonight). What a sensational play!!!! The audiences have taken it to their hearts, and this show is sold out for this final week of performances. If you want to put your name on a waiting list, call the box office at 294-5015 and if something opens up you will be notified. The cast is nothing short of amazing. The accolades and acclaim each actor has received is most deserving! Though a drama, which won both the Tony award and the Pulitzer prize, it is really hilarious too! This family, is so outrageous you cannot help but laugh at the over the top lines that are said and the events that occur. You will also find yourself relating to the characters, as people you may have in your very own family! Joy Hawkins and George DiBraud are so sensational… they are deserving of some kind of award…they are THAT good! In fact every actor is superb……John Wells, Chris Stone, Tom Murtha, Nicole Nurenberg, George Murphy, Bob Bowersox, Jessica Miano-Kruel, Shakti Assouline, Joe McMurray, Stephanie Yosen, and Kyle Caskey. Theater does not get much better! There are scenes that you will think about long after you leave the theater. Artistic Director, Danny Weathers has done a superlative job of directing and casting this play…..and, our set design by the brilliant Michael Boyer, is stunning!!! We all know Randy R from Lateda Fame, but there is another Randy R, a published author of biographies, etc. This Randy R is currently working on a biography of four famous writers who lived in The Writer’s Compound on Windsor Lane….Ralph Ellison, John Hersey, Richard Wilbur, and John Ciardi.
