AQUA IDOL TUESDAY…JAN. 31…..The perfect way to end the month of January is by attending our next to final Aqua Idol benefitting the Waterfront Playhouse! Our final three contestants are Connie Hurst, Cynthia Mulcahey, and Mike Rolfsmeyer. We started with 14 contestants way back when…..and now only three are standing. At the onset of this evening, one of the final three will be sadly eliminated. Then the top two will sing their hearts out throughout the evening….hoping they can get enough $$$$votes to be named Aqua Idol next week, Feb. 7th, when the winner will be announced! We are hoping that all former contestants and past Aqua Idol winners and Judges will be there on the 7th for this momentous occasion! A prize package worth $6,000 will be presented to the winners…..And, in my book, ALL our contestants are winners! Showtime is 6:30 pm, tonight and on Feb. 7th…. at Aqua Nightclub, 711 Duval St….Joining judges Tony Konrath and Lynda Frechette is that superb singer/entertainer, DAVE BOOTLE!!!!!! Emcee is the always entertaining Randy Thompson!

‘DEAD MAN’S CELL PHONE’ AT WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE…OFFICIAL OPENING IS FEB. 2…. HEADS UP ON BRUCE MOORE VISIT TO KEY WEST!!!!…..Broadway Baby,Bruce Moore, who has been residing in Gettysburg, PA, and oddly enough on W. Broadway Ave., will be coming back to Key West for five days, starting Feb. 2. On Feb. 4th, he will be dropping in at Tavern ‘N Town at Beachside Marriott, to celebrate his 50th birthday, and visit his good buddy, Bobby Nesbitt, who is entertaining in the Lounge that night! You are ALL welcome to also drop by to greet him and give him special birthday wishes that night….from 6 to 10:00 PM!!!! ROSI WARE HAD HER BIKE STOLEN!!!!…..Rosi, one of KWest’s beloved persons, had her chained bike stolen outside the office of the MARC house. WATERFRONT GALA WAS GALA INDEED!!!!….This was the ‘party of the year’!!! Held at the beautiful home of Brenda & Warren Dedrick, on Washington St….the enthusiastic partygoers were having a blast, dancing to the sounds of Debra & Patrick…..bidding on the amazing auction items….dining on a fabulous Cuisine prepared by the Iron Chefs…It was a night to remember! Congratulations to all the board members who knocked it out of the park, but very special thanks to Diane May and Bonnie Piceu who truly went the extra mile in planning and organizing this fantabulous event! Thanks to ALL….and thanks for your continued support of The Waterfront Playhouse!

GAYLA MORGAN CONCERT ON MON…..We saw a magical concert presented by Gayla Morgan at TennesseeWilliams Theatre on Monday eve. This gal is a dynamo…..she can sing like an angel, play both the violin and piano like a dream…..she can act, as we have seen her in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Forbidden Broadway…..and she can compose with the best of them! She wowed the audience as she shared her personal journey in music and song. With her were Eric Cole, who did an outstanding job accompanying her at the piano….plus singing…and JB McLendon, Joe McMurray, Laurie Breakwell, and Heather Carruthers! The show called “Doing What I Love…Loving What I Do” was marvelous from start to finish! It felt like a Love In….and rightly so, as Gayla Morgan is truly a ‘Love.’ Congratulations Gayla! Bravo! Bravo!!

UPDATE ON PAT WEST……George Sanders informed me that Pat is going to be released from the hospital soon….a handicapped equipped apartment has been rented for her and Chip in NYC. She is in a wheelchair and must keep her right leg elevated at all times. Her leg suffered a triple break & has an erector-set metal cage contraption around it with screws, braces, and the like. Therapy will take a long time, and pain killers, which she hates taking, are a must to get her thru the painful therapy that lies ahead. The good news is that Pat has quit smoking entirely and claims she will never smoke again, a new outlook on longevity! She has great doctors in NY….This was a serious, near-fatal accident with a very lucky outcome for everyone involved. Keep Pat in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through the recovery process! We love you Pat!!!

TERRI WHITE IN FOLLIES…..After a fantastic run in NYC, the final curtain fell on FOLLIES at the Marquis Theatre on Jan. 22.
