TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28 , TO MONDAY, MARCH 6 (ETC.), 2017 IN KEY WEST WITH LYNDA!!!!!

HAPPY FEB.28 BIRTHDAY TO….BRENT BARRETT…BILL REGARDIE…NANCY LOPEZ … Please remember DOTTIE FABER… HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO…. HARROLD BARRY & STEVE ANDRES.

A PERSONAL INVITATION FOR YOU….I am personally inviting you to attend the wonderful fundraiser for the Waterfront Playhouse that I have worked very hard at putting together. This event began on Jan. 10 with 15 singers and now we have 10…all talented and amazing!!! If you have not yet attended, I ask that you please give us a chance. You are guaranteed to have a great time while helping out the esteemed Waterfront Playhouse raise badly needed funds. This weekly contest runs through March 21, so you still have four more chances to attend….your presence there would mean the world to me, and to the theater and our contestants. If you have been attending, I thank you with ALL my heart and I hope you tell all your friends how fun and entertaining it is! Read below about what to expect on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Aqua Idol at 711 Duval St.

****AQUA IDOL 2017 ON FEB.28….. Another super enthusiastic standing room only crowd witnessed one of the ALL TIME Best Aqua Idol Contests EVER last Tuesday, 2/21, when our contestants belted out showtunes!!!! On Tues. Feb. 28, our remaining contestants, BILL MELCHIOR…GINA SALERNO … VICKY HEDBERG…BOB WOOD… …LARRY BLACKBURN … SARAH DORRANCE …ARTHUR CROCKER …MELODY LYNN ….DESTINY MONTGOMERY … & JERRY DOWNS will be performing Duets with a person outside of the contest … They will be singing their great big hearts out for the benefit of THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE, as they do every Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Aqua Nightclub at 711 Duval St. Sadly we had to say goodbye to the ultra superb Heather-Mae Potter and Rhett Kalman, but we are hoping they may be guests in future Idol eves. If you want a good seat, make sure you get there early enough to claim one! This is every Tuesday until March 21…..PLEASE be There! You will not want to miss a single one! Tony Konrath and I will be weekly judges and our guest judge this week will be the always Fah-bu-louos, CHRISTOPHER PETERSON, internationally known entertainer and creator of his famous EYECONS Show at Lateda!!! All this gloriousness is FREE to attend….happy hour drink prices … amazing entertainment …loads of fun while raising money for a great cause, THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE! Come and see & hear what everyone is talking about in Key West!!!! There were no eliminations last week, but this week there will be a double elimination!!! If you want your fave to remain in the contest, it is important that you be there and you vote with $$$$… and if you can’t be there vote online!!! Read below to see how you can donate to your fave contestant online!!!

VOTING ON LINE FOR AQUA IDOL….. For those who cannot attend Aqua Idol on a certain night, or you prefer to vote using a credit card option you can donate online. It’s easy as pie. If you go to https://www.waterfrontplayhouse.org/donate-online/ , you will get to the site right away. You can also go to the www.waterfrontplayhouse.org website and then follow these steps. You will see the the word SUPPORT. Click on Support….Then, just below that will be DONATE ONLINE….Click that….You will then see a long box with the words Waterfront Playhouse. At the end of the box is an arrow. Click on the arrow. All the names of the contestants will pop up. Then you click on the name of whom you are donating to. Fill in Waterfront Playhouse below that. Then all your credit card info will appear and you fill out accordingly, step by step. You can donate toward any of these contestants until 5:30 on Tuesday, the day of the competition…this week, Feb. 7. Whatever is donated will be added to the ‘bucket total’ raised that night by a particular singer. For instance, if Vicky had $20 donated on line, and she raised $100 singing on Tuesday, she raised $120 total. Next week, it starts all over. You can also send checks made out to The Waterfront Playhouse. Put the name of your chosen contestant on the memo line. Then you can send the check to Att: Gary Symons, Waterfront Playhouse, PO Box 724 Key West, FL 33041. Or you can send your checks, made out to the Waterfront Playhouse, to your contestant of choice, and they can handle it the way they want to.

AQUA IDOL PRIZE PACKAGE…HOW YOU CAN HELP??? …I am in the process of assembling the Prize Package to be presented to the Top 3 Contestants on the final night, March 21. I love these singers who are going all out to raise badly needed dollars for the Waterfront Playhouse. I in turn try to get the best package for them. Some people have asked if they can help contribute and I say ‘but of course!’ How can you help? If you have unused nice items that you can donate…artwork, jewelry, gift certificates to shops and restaurants, services that you can provide, overnight stays at hotels and inns…or if you want to donate cool hard cash, I would greatly appreciate it. All donations are tax deductible and you will be sent a form for tax purposes and for your records. For those who want to donate cash, you can make checks payable to The Waterfront Playhouse and write Aqua Idol Prize Package on the memo line and send to Gary Symons, ATT: Aqua Idol… PO Box 724, Key West, FL 33041. If you have items to pick up, let me know and I will arrange a pick up. BIG THANKS! (I want to extend big thanks to those who have already answered this call … Rita Linder, Neal Ruchman, Jerry Galeana, Jeffrey Tarnoff, Bonnie Piceu, Kevin Melloncamp and Scott Mason, the Beatties, etc. You make my heart sing!)

TEEN-AGER NEEDS AID….OPEN YOUR HEARTS, PLEASE…..My friend, EM Lazott, who not only has a million dollar voice, but a zillion dollar heart… works as a caseworker for Wesley House. She deals with children who have been abandoned by their families. Thankfully, Wesley House has housing for these children until they are 18….but once they turn 18, they are, for the most part, left to fend for themselves. At this moment, Em has a very sweet 17 year old girl who will turn 18 on April 27 … will be graduating from the KW High School in June, with plans to attend the KWCC next fall. She is trying to find a safe and secure room rental until the end of April in KW. She has a part time job, receives $500 monthly from the state to help with rent (check goes directly to the landlord so that there is no confusion). She is drug and alcohol free…not sexually active, no mental health issues, very sweet and wholesome, born and raised in KW but has been abandoned by her mother with no other family in the vicinity. She plans to pursue a nursing career. Can you or anyone you know help this dear child? Do you have, or do you know anyone who may have an extra room that you could rent for about $800-$1,000 a month. She will be able to afford this amount. If you can open your heart and help, please contact Em at 508-367-0243 or email her at elazott@yahoo.com. I find this story heart wrenching. It is so hard to believe that this happens on our Island, Pollyanna that I tend to be. Thank you for reading…and please pass this on.

CONGRATS TO TIM GREENBERG, SON OF LINDA & FRED!!!….Just heard the great news that IFC gave the green light to “Living with Yourself” …a scripted comedy from longtime Daily Show Producer, TIM GREENBERG…The eight episode series will bow next year. We are thrilled for Tim and his very proud family!!!!!

TERRI WHITE NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!!…Our dear friend, Terri White has a rare blood disease called Little Chain Deposition Disease and Multiple Myeloma. The treatment of this very serious malady is chemotherapy and it is very costly. Unfortunately, Terri does NOT have insurance. Treatments are $1,500 a week plus $1,000 for prescriptions. She and partner, Donna Barnett, are doing everything possible to acquire financial aid, but to no avail. TERRI IS IN DIRE NEED OF YOUR HELP AT THIS CHALLENGING TIME. A GO FUND ME Account has been established to help her. Terri has done much volunteering for others in the community, and now she needs YOUR help. Please go to the Go Fund Me Site to contribute whatever you can.

Go to https://www.gofundme.com/terri-white-medical-fund?ssid=805222351&pos=1. I hope and pray that you will find it in your heart to be kind and generous. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I ask that you please contact Donna Barnett at donnab410@aol.com. Thank you.

Bocdow. …Dee Dee Duecker … Karla Muir … Vincent Gregory …Tony Freese… Jennifer O’Lear …Margaret Taylor … Roland Ryper …Patrick Richards. Remember, there are many reasons that we pray…not just because people are ill…. I do believe that when we all send prayers and good vibes to those in need, those prayers mystically meet and surround those being prayed for. Sometimes we pray for miracles and the impossible….sometimes we pray to just cope with the results of what happens to those we are praying for. Sometimes we pray for strength to go on and to accept…sometimes we pray for thanksgiving. We are in this thing called ‘Life’ together….and we all have power within us to help our fellow man. Bless you for remembering our loved ones….Prayer changes things! Let me know if you know of anyone who should be added to this list.

*** THE PISCES PERSONALITY….FEBRUARY 20 THRU MARCH 20TH!!! ***

This is either the sign of the saint or the sinner…or BOTH rolled into one! The symbol of Pisces are two fish swimming in different directions….and this describes the way Pisces can hit the heights or sink to the lowest depths. It’s a sign of extremes. Pisceans often come off as ‘otherworldly’….they are swayed by their emotions. The result is that Pisces is the sign of the Dreamer…the Visionary…the Saint! One of the most outstanding attributes of a Piscean is their kindness. They have a bottomless reservoir of compassion for others, even when they suspect they are being conned by them. They work hard for their favorite charities or local good causes….though you may not know anything about it as they don’t like advertising their good works. Many Pisceans say they go through life as in a dream, drifting and floating and at the mercy of whatever fate has to offer them. They have a great capacity to show emotion, and are easily moved to tears by TV shows that present suffering. They also struggle to face up to harsh reality. They hate unpleasant situations, harsh facts, and confrontations. They hate the awfulness of what is in the news….preferring to look at the world through rose colored glasses. They can actually deceive themselves into thinking things are better than they really are. They wear their heart on their sleeve, and what a huge heart they have!

They are born romantics, but that makes them very sensitive to hurt and pain. They pour out their affection to their favorite people. Most Pisceans are faithful…but some have a big capacity for deception and may be juggling a string of lovers! They see the best in others, which is why they have so many admirers. However, it also puts them at risk of potential heartbreak because it makes them blind to a loved one’s failings. The best signs for a Pisces are Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Libra, and Capricorn.

Pisceans are drawn to professions that are incredibly glamorous and artistic or those involving service to others. They are interested in careers as actors, photographers, dancers, designers, the cosmetic industry, and fashion. Many devote their lives to looking after others especially in hospitals, prisons and hospices. They can be totally self-sacrificing. They may also be attracted to the religious or contemplative life. Needless to say many are also living on the wrong side of the law. The best signs for a Piscean are Libra….Scorpio….Cancer and another Pisces.

WE LOVE OUR PISCES FRIENDS & FAMILY MEMBERS & WISH THEM A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
