Special packages are available. There are wonderful after parties at great venues in town…and they always do it up First Class! I want to pay special tribute to our own Quincy Perkins who works tirelessly to make this event the wonderful event it has become! And know that Quincy has a marvelous full length movie to be screened on Sunday, Nov.19, entitled, ‘LOVE IN YOUTH’… at The San Carlos Institute at 2 pm. This is a project he has been working on for 4 years, and stars two local teenaged actors from Key West…and was filmed entirely in Key West. Note that the Tropic Cinema will once again be included as one of the movie site venues! Many renown film critics will be at various movies to discuss films after the viewing…like Kenneth Turan of the LA Times and Joshua Rothkopf senior film editor of Time Out New York. Our Key West Film Fest just gets bigger and better every year!!!!!

A POSSIBLE GOOD JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU… A special friend of ours is looking to hire someone, male or female, as a personal assistant in Sugarloaf Key, FL. Good wages. If you are interested please call Fred at 917-373-3332.

THE HEADDRESS BALL MINI REVIEW….One of the very most outstanding events of Fantasy Fest is the Annual Headdress Ball sponsored by the KW Business Guild. This year it was held at the new KW Amphitheater at the Truman Waterfront. Miraculously ‘they’ got it all together in spite of Irma and all the time lost in getting the venue up and running. It was terrific!!!! Tom Luna was never better as he took the stage as the emcee…quick at a whip…hilarious and debonair….The area is much much larger than I imagined it would be….tables were set up with complete table service … food to order and also cocktails galore. The Headdresses were spectacular and the contestants had ample room to move around onstage…no one had to bend over afraid they would catch their headdresses on something as in years past. There were some sensational acts interspersed among the contestants….The first person to take the stage ever at the Amphitheater was former Queen Jodyrae Campbell, who did a soaring a capella version of The Star Spangled Banner….. Randy Roberts was a delightful and saucy Bette Midler….. Inga was outrageous and delightful …. FF Queen Destiny Montgomery was enchanting….not every queen has a voice like that!!!…Nick Mazza did a routine on a pole that was amazing….. All stupendous….and then there was Christopher Peterson!!!!…. who stole the show, singing three sensational songs….coming out on the stage in a breathtaking fur trimmed coat with a train carried by his ‘subjects’…all in sparkling gold….looking unbelievably fantastic….going into the audience to mingle and charm….and then ending with the perfectly chosen song ‘HOME’…..touching all of our hearts after what we all shared with Hurricane Irma….realizing how Key West is truly a Home we love very deeply. Tears flowed. Special thank you to Alan Beaubien and Peter Arnow and all those who work so hard to make this event a MUST SEE!!!! One more thing that was not mentioned during the evening…. There was a fantabulous painted backdrop hanging on the stage throughout the evening…it was used in many ads all around town….featuring a very chic lady with a big hat…..It was created, designed, and painted by none other than Key West’s own Susan Guadagno!!!! Truly, it was something very special and I congratulate Susan on that great work of art!!! Made the perfect backdrop for sure!

DEAL AT CAFÉ SOLE…..1029 Southard St….50% off select bottles of wine… 20% off food with local ID. from 5 to 10 pm.

LYNDA FRECHETTE HAS TOE-LIO!!!….Really not funny, but if you don’t laugh about it you cry! On Sept. 8, while I was in Ohio while Bob came to Key West to secure our house from the storm, I had a strange thing happen to my right big toe. My toe nail split vertically on about a quarter of the toe, and it came off. Went to a urgent care center and they treated it as best they could….encouraged soaking baths in Epsom salts and put me on antibiotics. So on Oct. 19, I was carrying the pan of water back to dump in the sink and unbeknownst to me, some of that water splashed on the kitchen floor. On the way back to join Bob on the sofa to watch TV, I slipped on that bit of water and did something to my left foot. I went to the Urgent Care here in KW, the foot was x-rayed and found I had broken my left toe. They recommended that I see a podiatrist for both feet….which I did on Oct. 25. To make a long story shorter…I had an ingrown toe nail on my right foot, a ball of skin growing there, and the x-ray showed that there was also a small cyst on the toe. I had surgery in the office to remove the ingrown nail, the skin growth and the cyst was sent to a lab to be analyzed. UPDATE: A week later….and all is going well…. My left foot had two breaks….I am subsequently wearing a big ugly black boot on that foot off an on, and will have to as it heals. My cyst was benign so that is a relief. So all will heal in time…. and that is all we really have, isn’t it….time! And so it goes.

*** THE SCORPIO PERSONALITY…OCTOBER 23 THROUGH NOVEMBER 22 ***

I am starting this by saying that some of my best friends are Scorpios….as well as my very best friend, my dear husband Bob! They are an amazing group….terrific company and possess a fantastic sense of humor. That being said, Scorpios view life in a very emotional and intense way….and they find it very difficult to express profound feelings that they have. Scorpios keep their deep feelings buried under the surface. They have an innate need for privacy and secrecy making them reluctant to let people know how they feel. This sign is often viewed as being obsessive and it is true that a Scorpio takes things quite seriously. They are happiest when they are able to concentrate their energies in particular directions, because they need to feel emotionally involved in everything they do. Otherwise life loses its meaning and purpose. Once a Scorpio has made up their mind about something, it is very hard to persuade them to change it. They often have fixed ideas about all sorts of things and can take a very hard line over such topics as capital punishment and imprisonment. Despite a Scorpio’s natural loyalty, if you push them too far or double cross them in some way, they will never forget it and they will never forgive you. They will probably give you the cold shoulder to exact their revenge. It is wise not to get on the wrong side of a Scorpio! A Scorpio’s magnetic charm and powerful personality attract many fans. People love the fact that ‘still waters run deep’….and when a Scorpio is silent, everyone wonders what they are thinking and go to great lengths to find out. They know there is lots more going on under the surface than the Scorpio will reveal.

Love is an area that can cause problems for Scorpios as they take it so seriously. There is nothing superficial about members of this sign, and as a result they need relationships that are deep and satisfying. One night stand and brief flirtations quickly lose their charm…the Scorpio is looking for something more significant than that, and when they find it they will channel all their energies into it. They do demand a great deal from their partner, with love and loyalty at the top of the list. One big Scorpio problem is jealousy and another is possessiveness. If a Scorpio has been hurt in the past, it can be very hard for him to resolve these issues. Sex and Scorpio go together like bread and butter. They place such great importance on sex because it is such a good way for them to express their feelings. The best signs for a Scorpio are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo another Scorpio and Leo.

What a Scorpio does for a living must have meaning and purpose, needing to feel emotionally involved in their career. Otherwise they will feel unhappy and dissatisfied. They must believe their work is meaningful…nothing demeaning or boring for them! They will pour all their energies into their work wanting to do something that provides endless interest and stimulation.

Scorpios also love to know what’s going on…so they are the eyes and ears enjoying sharing the latest gossip and intrigue. It is important for them to get on well with their colleagues and that they work in a comfortable atmosphere. They need positions of power, even though it may be minor…..the thought that everyone else has control but them is devastating! Scorpios are attracted to law, science, detective work, medicine, research and the like. They also get great satisfaction from working in the wine trade…especially if they can attend lots of wine tastings. Scorpios need more money than most…as financial security is very important to them….they also enjoy the power that comes with money. Living comfortably is of utmost important to the
Scorpio…..In their hearts they know they should have been born with a silver spoon in their mouth…. And if they were not to the manor born, they will do everything in their power to achieve that status symbol. Investing and accumulating are important to the Scorpio…they are canny investors and love playing the stock market.

WE LOVE OUR MARVELOUS SCORPIO FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS!!!!!
