**IT’S COUNTRY NIGHT AT AQUA IDOL ON TUES., FEB.12…..There is certainly a lot of electricity in the air!  It’s because tonight, it is Tuesday and Tuesday is AQUA IDOL Night for THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE!!! Come one and all to 711 Duval St. from 6:30 to 8 pm!  It is the very best FREE-to-Attend Show in town…. I have assembled a wonderful group of big-hearted singers with superb voices, who are volunteering their time and talent to help raise needed dollars for the esteemed Waterfront Playhouse! The Theme of Feb. 5 is BROADWAY SHOW TUNES!!…. And those performing for this highly anticipated EVENT are… ROBBY LE BLANC…CHUCK FOX … JOHN BAIRD… JIM SPEAKE …JENNY MAE MURPHY…SARAH PERKINS …VERA GREGOROVICZ… JOE TRIPP…KARRI DALEY ….VICKY ROWDEN ….SCARLETT TRNOVSKA …LUKE FOX….ADAM SWEITZER ….DORA GHOLSON…..Sadly we had to say goodbye to the talented DEBORAH GRAY last week….She did a great rendition of “9 to 5” had a great costume and all, but the dollars were not there to keep her in.  If you want your fave singers to remain in the contest, please add some extra $$$ to ascertain that they will be there next week.  Read below how you can donate online if you cannot attend.  Word has gotten around town about how terrific everyone is so you best come early enough to hear each singer perform and to get a great seat….  We are hoping you will not miss a single Idol and will support these generous talents and our Playhouse. Judges Tony Konrath and I will be joined by celebrity guest judge, DAVE BOOTLE… Dave is one of Key West’s most popular entertainers in town…at Mangoes 4 nights a week… an actor, director and former film stunt man!  Hoping he will also sing a song!!!!  Hope to see y’all there!!!!!

DONATING ONLINE FOR AQUA IDOL CONTESTANTS….For those who cannot attend and even for those who come faithfully every week…. This is a great way to donate to your favorite vocalist in Aqua Idol.  You go to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org … then click on Support…then click on donate online… Then click the Waterfront Playhouse box, and all the contestant’s names will appear…. Then go from there by donating online with your credit card.  The great news is that all donations to your contestant  to the Waterfront Playhouse are tax deductible.  Besides the $$$ I put in the buckets each week, I donate online every week. You can too!  You can also write out checks to Waterfront Playhouse and place the name of the contestant in the Memo box.. and place in your contestant’s bucket at Aqua.  Tax Deductible!!!

****“A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2” AT WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE….We saw this sensational play on opening night, and just saw it again on Closing night on Feb.9.  AS great as it was on opening, it was 100 times better on closing night.  The four actors were phenomenal…. They had really grown into their roles and they made us laugh and cry and feel.  I understood what they felt and what they were going through in their lives.  On opening nights I have a tendency to get caught up in the audience’s reactions and the like and I sometimes miss some key elements along the way.  I was very judgemental in regard to the character Nora, acted by Maribeth Graham.  I couldn’t seem to get beyond the fact that she left her husband and children for 15 years.  On closing night it became very clear why she did what she did and I understood everyone’s feelings totally, and loved them all.  The actors must be congratulated on their marvelous performances…. DAVID BLACK, MARIBETH GRAHAM, JOY HAWKINS AND JESSICA MIANO KRUEL.  Kudos to director, Murphy Davis and set designer, Michael Boyer…And congratulations to Tom Thayer and the Waterfront Playhouse for continuing their tradition of presenting challenging and wonderful theater to Key West!!!  On a side note…. The evening before closing night, Jessica Miano’s beloved dog, Peanut, somehow got out of the house and ran into the street and was killed by a car.  Understandably, Jessica was devastated…and all who knew her, shared her pain… I wondered how could she possibly go on and perform on the final night… and just like the shining star she is… with intense pain in her heart and with the words  “The show must go on” etched in her heart…… like the sublime  actress she is, she delivered a memorable and exceptional performance. Bravo! Bravo!

SHARRON MONDO DREZNER….. On Jan. 29, Sharron Mondo Drezner, was admitted as an emergency patient to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami, with a threatening rupture of a thoracic aneurysm.  She underwent surgery on Jan. 29, and the procedure was a success.  She is now in the ICU unit as doctors are correcting cardiac rhythm problems.  This was an open heart procedure as the major blood vessel of the heart had to be resected with graft replacement.  Please keep Sharron and her husband Skip in your choicest thoughts and prayers.  Please send her cards and messages to their home at 1901 S. Roosevelt Blvd….#402….Key West, FL 33040.  Her mail will be delivered to her in Miami as long as she is there.  Sharron is a real sweetheart…. A beautiful redhead with lots of pizzazz and energy… I had the great pleasure of meeting her in Bruce Moore’s tap class.  We are praying that she will soon be up and about and dancing again.

SADDENED TO HEAR….The very special and dear Chuck Newman, beloved husband of Jane Dawkins, recently passed away after a long illness dealing with respiratory problems…yet, Chuck continued to work till two days before passing at his job with  Absolutely Amazing eBooks!  He was the Amazing One! You can send messages and cards to his wonderful wife, Jane Dawkins at 2026 Staples Ave., Key West, FL 33040.  Also, I just heard about the passing of Gordy Michael’s lovely wife, Debbie, in Oregon.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Gordy at this time of great loss.

                                 THE AQUARIUS PERSONALITY…JAN. 21 THRU FEB. 20

Aquarians are totally different from every other sign….something sets them apart from everyone else.   The typical Aquarian approaches life from a very different perspective to most people.  Each Aquarian is completely original and innovative.  For a start, they are totally independent.  They follow the beat of a different drum and need to go their own way through life.  Those who try to stop them or hold them back will soon discover how useless this policy is.  If anything, it will make the Aquarian even more determined to do their own thing…and if no one else likes it, tough!  Once an Aquarian has made up their mind about something, you will go blue in the face trying to persuade them to change it….they simply are not interested.    This single-minded determination operates in every area of their life.  However, they are very hard to predict…so even if you think you know how an Aquarian will react to something, they’ll probably take you by complete surprise and do the very opposite.  This is all part of the fun of knowing an Aquarian.  The present is much more of interest to an Aquarian than the past.  They focus on the here and now rather than get caught up in what happened a week last Wednesday.  An Aquarian is light years ahead of others in their thinking.  As a result, they can seem like an iconoclast, possibly even a threat, because they have revolutionary theories or go against the tide of popular ideas.  They are extremely intelligent and very rational…they do not take an emotional approach to life.

This is the friendliest sign of the Zodiac….they need a lot of friends…and to know they are around….though they are really only intimate with a very select group.  When it comes to love, they need to choose a lover who is also a friend.  It is hard for an Aquarian to love someone if they do not like them too.  Their partner must be intelligent and a good conversationalist.  An Aquarian must also need a partner who respects their need for independence.  They hate when someone keeps tabs on them and needs to know their every move.  They do not want to be joined at the hip with anyone.  They need the freedom to come and go as they like.  However, they do not want to give their partner the same freedom that they want for themselves!  The best signs for an Aquarian is Libra or Sagittarius…possibly an Aries and a Gemini too.

In careers an Aquarian does not want to be stuck in a dead end job.  They are attracted to charity and humanitarian work.  Being self-employed appeals to Aquarians, as they thrive on being their own boss.  They do not think anyone knows more than they do.   They do not like taking orders from anyone they feel is inferior to them.  And that’s the name of that tune!

We love our Aquarian Friends and Family Members!!!

If you are one of those unique Aquarians and the description above pertains to you in any way, please let me know.  Also, if you are not on the Birthday & Anniversary Lists and want to be, please send me your month and day  to  kwlynda@bellsouth.net and I will add you to the list.  Being on the lists has its privileges….I make sure of that!  I can’t tell you how many times people tell me that I am the only person to remember their birthday year after year.  It is a good feeling and so easy to reach out on someone’s special day!  It is all about community building and caring for those we know and love.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to everyone above mentioned!!!

Love,

Lynda
