DEAR READERS…We’re ba-ack! So great to be back in Key West! Even though we had been away for four months, it seems we have never left! No sooner did we arrive and we have been immersed in the amazing activity that is KW! So wonderful to already see so many good friends in such a short time. We traveled with a car full to the brim… and though the car is unpacked…. Hardly a thing has been put away… and all the shutters are still closed, making the house quite dim…. And all the porch furniture is still stacked up in our living and dining rooms…. But duty calls, so here I am, doing ‘the Blog’!!!!!
“THE GOOD COP” ON NETFLIX,….Hope you are all loving THE GOOD COP….The premier was SEPTEMBER 21….on NETFLIX…. Writer and Executive Producer of this show, HY CONRAD (he of Monk and White Collar fame) … (and also very special friend and Key West resident)… is excited about this new show that is getting LOTS of buzz! ALL ten episodes of the first season are available… and I encourage all to ‘BINGE WATCH’ the series… assuring that Netflix will renew the show quickly!!! THE GOOD COP is a new Dramedy… This show stars Tony Danza as a disgraced NY police officer who never followed ‘the rules’…. And Josh Groban as his son, Tony Jr., earnest and obsessively honest detective who makes a point to ALWAYS follow the rules. Father Tony, returns home to live with his son… and of course, they form a most unlikely team. THIS IS TRULY MUST SEE TV! JIM HALL…SICK BAY….. Very dear friend, JIM HALL, recently endured an Ischemic stroke at his home in Virginia Beach. He is convalescing in the hospital and going through some therapy… and we are all behind him 150% and are hoping he will be all well and good as new before long. *******PLEASE BECOME A MEMBER OF THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE!!! Before long ‘the 2018-19 Season’ in KW will begin again. As a proud Board Member of the Waterfront Playhouse for 13 years, I am hoping that you will take the time to read the following. Our beloved Waterfront Playhouse had some major setbacks and challenges this past year. Hurricane Irma had a huge negative impact on the tourist populations coming to KW and dollars spent at the Theater. Major funding and grant challenges that we had counted on for years, were not there last season. But we persevered and presented yet another excellent Theater Season. In addition, we were confronted with the retirement of our wonderful artistic director of 17 years, Danny Weathers. The good news was that our new artistic director, Tom Thayer, was already employed by The WP as Business & Box Office Mgr. As fate would have it, Tom had run a Theater in Tennessee for 33 years, and he was able to seamlessly move into the AD spot. Of course that meant we needed a new Business Mgr., Box office Mgr…. and a Marketing Director. Then we lost our House Mgr. who also retired. At first it was a tad overwhelming, but we were able find quality people to assume each of those positions. Behind the scenes, we lost several key board members.. but after a search we have 9 fabulous new Board Members and we are thrilled! As you can see, we are on the threshold of new exciting beginnings. In spite of any past challenges, we all know that THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!! Theaters aren’t able to rely on Ticket Sales alone to keep them going…that is only a tiny part of it. In order to continue to present the kind of quality theater you have come to expect from us, we need YOU to help! How can I help? you ask….If you are already a MEMBER of the Waterfront Playhouse Family, I ask that you consider deepening your commitment financially by becoming a member at a higher level than you had before. Each level provides special perks and privileges…. BUT, the important thing is to look at it as not so much as ‘what you can get out of your membership’ but what you are giving and doing to provide Key West with the BEST Theater experience possible! Margaret Romero garnered 22%….. that means they will both be on the Nov. 6th ballot, and the winner will be decided on that evening! If you are in town to vote, make sure you go out to the polls that day. You can also opt to EARLY VOTE from Oct. 22 thru Nov. 3 at 530 Whitehead St….. AND…. If you will still not be in town to vote early or on the day….and you are able to vote….. PLEASE REQUEST ANOTHER ABSENTEE BALLOT and vote by Mail!!!! She does possess all the qualities that we desire in a Leader….. plus her great ability to heal and bring people together. She is a voice of reason and truly cares about each resident in our town!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KWAHS TENNESSEE WILLIAMS MUSEUM! We are thrilled that this wonderful Museum, founded by curator, Dennis Beaver along with Bert Whitt, has been nominated for an internationally noteworthy award by the British Guild of Travel Writers in its ‘Best Wider World Tourism Project’ category. CONGRATS TO TIMOTHY GREENBERG!!!! Son of Fred Greenberg and his late wife, Linda, we are thrilled to hear that Netflix has ordered eight episodes of Tim Greenberg’s new comedy series, ‘Living with Yourself’ starring popular actor, Paul Rudd. Tim created this comedy series and is exec producer…he is an Emmy and Peabody award winner for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. This is exciting stuff!

**THE SCORPIO PERSONALITY…OCTOBER 23 THROUGH NOVEMBER 22
I am starting this by saying that some of my best friends are Scorpios….as well as my very best friend, my dear husband Bob! They are an amazing group….terrific company and possess a fantastic sense of humor. That being said, Scorpios view life in a very emotional and intense way….and they find it very difficult to express profound feelings that they have. Scorpios keep their deep feelings buried under the surface. They have an innate need for privacy and secrecy making them reluctant to let people know how they feel. This sign is often viewed as being obsessive and it is true that a Scorpio takes things quite seriously. They are happiest when they are able to concentrate their energies in particular directions, because they need to feel emotionally involved in everything they do. Otherwise life loses its meaning and purpose. Once a Scorpio has made up their mind about something, it is very hard to persuade them to change it. They often have fixed ideas about all sorts of things and can take a very hard line over such topics as capital punishment and imprisonment. Despite a Scorpio’s natural loyalty, if you push them too far or double cross them in some way, they will never forget it and they will never forgive you. They will probably give you the cold shoulder to exact their revenge. It is wise not to get on the wrong side of a Scorpio! A Scorpio’s magnetic charm and powerful personality attract many fans.
