I would like to introduce those who will be performing for this highly anticipated EVENT…. Singing will be JOHN BAIRD….KARRI DALEY …. CHUCK FOX….. LUKE FOX (no relation to Chuck!)….DORA GHOLSON … DEBORAH GRAY … ROBBY LE BLANC …VERA GREGOROVICZ …. SARAH PERKINS …. VICKY ROWDEN…. JIM SPEAKE … ADAM SWEITZER….. JENNY-MAE MURPHY …..JOE TRIPP…and SCARLETT TRNOVSKA…..  We are hoping you will not miss a single Idol and will support these generous talents and our Playhouse.  Make sure you come early enough to get a good seat.  Judges the first week will be Tony Konrath and me, plus JERRY DOWNS, last year’s Aqua Idol Winner.  He will also be gracing us with a guest song. There may be other guest singers too!!!  So…. Get ready for a great time enjoying some very special vocalists!!!!

MINI REVIEW ON BOBBY IN THE LOBBY SHOW!!!!…All those who were there on Jan. 20 at the Tennessee Williams Cabaret, shared a magical evening of phenomenal musical entertainment.  Bobby Nesbitt, a genius at weaving stories about lyricists and song writers put on a show that rivaled any of the best of the best of shows you may have ever seen anywhere!  It had been five years since Bobby had presented one of these shows and we wonder how in the world we ever lived without them for such a long time!   He presented an evening featuring the Music of Rodgers & Hart and of Jule Styne…and it was glorious from beginning to end.  Sole musician was Bobby at the piano… and joining him onstage were the incredible Carmen Rodriguez and Danny Weathers.  Carmen is that rarity… a true Conch…luminous, whose voice amazes and thrills, and who just keeps getting better and better with each passing year. Danny, artistic director for 17 years at the Waterfront Playhouse, who recently moved to Palm Springs, CA… was welcomed back with hearts full of love.  His presence onstage is always divine!  Bobby, Carmen and Danny interpret the lyrics of each song perfectly… they feel every word of each song they sing…….one second making you laugh, and the next bringing you to tears…. I tell you, folks… it really doesn’t get any better than what Bobby, Carmen and Danny gifted us with last night.  It was an emotionally charged evening… a night to savor and hold close to your heart forever.  It is that dreamboat, Bobby Nesbitt, who never looked or sounded better… and his sublime rapport with the audience and with Carmen and Danny that makes one’s heart sing with pure joy!  What Bobby Nesbitt does and how he does it, is pure MAGIC!!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

*******PLEASE BECOME A MEMBER OF THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE!!!  Before long ‘the 2018-19 Season’ in KW will begin again.  As a proud Board Member of the Waterfront Playhouse for 13 years, I am hoping that you will take the time to read the following.   Our beloved Waterfront Playhouse had some major setbacks and challenges this past year.  Hurricane Irma had a huge negative impact on the tourist populations coming to KW and dollars spent at the Theater.   Major funding and grant challenges that we had counted on for years, were not there last season.  But we persevered and presented yet another excellent Theater Season. In addition, we were confronted with the retirement of our wonderful artistic director of 17 years, Danny Weathers.  The good news was that our new artistic director, Tom Thayer, was already employed by The WP as Business & Box Office Mgr.  As fate would have it, Tom had run a Theater in Tennessee for 33 years,  and he was able to seamlessly move into the AD spot. Of course that meant we needed a new Business Mgr., Box office Mgr…. and a Marketing Director.  Then we lost our House Mgr. who also retired.  At first it was a tad overwhelming, but we were able find quality people to assume each of those positions.  Behind the scenes, we lost several key board members.. but after a search we have 9 fabulous new Board Members and we are thrilled!  As you can see, we are on the threshold of new exciting beginnings.  In spite of any past challenges, we all know that THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!  Theaters aren’t able to rely on Ticket Sales alone to keep them going…that is only a tiny part of it.  In order to continue to present the kind of quality theater you have come to expect from us, we need YOU to help!  How can I help? you ask….If you are already a MEMBER of the Waterfront Playhouse Family, I ask that you consider deepening your commitment financially by becoming a member at a higher level than you had before.  Each level provides special perks and privileges….  BUT, the important thing is to look at it as not so much as ‘what you can get out of your membership’ but what you are giving and doing to provide Key West with the BEST Theater experience possible!  If you have Never been a Member of the Waterfront Playhouse before…. I hope you will realize that we NEED YOUR HELP and support more than ever!…now right NOW!  You can go online to www.waterfrontplayhouse.org or call 305-294-5015 to order your membership….and you can see the Breakdown of what each Level of Membership provides.  You will be helping us beyond words…. To recover from Hurricane Irma, declining state funding and increasing costs!!!  Thank you so much for your support of the Waterfront Playhouse and LIVE Theater in Paradise!!!

                                 THE AQUARIUS PERSONALITY…JAN. 21 THRU FEB. 20

Aquarians are totally different from every other sign….something sets them apart from everyone else.   The typical Aquarian approaches life from a very different perspective to most people.  Each Aquarian is completely original and innovative.  For a start, they are totally independent.  They follow the beat of a different drum and need to go their own way through life.  Those who try to stop them or hold them back will soon discover how useless this policy is.  If anything, it will make the Aquarian even more determined to do their own thing…and if no one else likes it, tough!  Once an Aquarian has made up their mind about something, you will go blue in the face trying to persuade them to change it….they simply are not interested.    This single-minded determination operates in every area of their life.  However, they are very hard to predict…so even if you think you know how an Aquarian will react to something, they’ll probably take you by complete surprise and do the very opposite.  This is all part of the fun of knowing an Aquarian.  The present is much more of interest to an Aquarian than the past.  They focus on the here and now rather than get caught up in what happened a week last Wednesday.  An Aquarian is light years ahead of others in their thinking.  As a result, they can seem like an iconoclast, possibly even a threat, because they have revolutionary theories or go against the tide of popular ideas.  They are extremely intelligent and very rational…they do not take an emotional approach to life.

This is the friendliest sign of the Zodiac….they need a lot of friends…and to know they are around….though they are really only intimate with a very select group.  When it comes to love, they need to choose a lover who is also a friend.  It is hard for an Aquarian to love someone if they do not like them too.  Their partner must be intelligent and a good conversationalist.  An Aquarian must also need a partner who respects their need for independence.  They hate when someone keeps tabs on them and needs to know their every move.  They do not want to be joined at the hip with anyone.  They need the freedom to come and go as they like.  However, they do not want to give their partner the same freedom that they want for themselves!  The best signs for an Aquarian is Libra or Sagittarius…possibly an Aries and a Gemini too.

In careers an Aquarian does not want to be stuck in a dead end job.  They are attracted to charity and humanitarian work.  Being self-employed appeals to Aquarians, as they thrive on being their own boss.  They do not think anyone knows more than they do.   They do not like taking orders from anyone they feel is inferior to them.  And that’s the name of that tune!

We love our Aquarian Friends and Family Members!!!
