Lenore Troia’s interview gives you a little insight into both the person who is Lenore as well as her unique musical style. People like myself become addicted to the sound of island music which contains thoughtful lyrics of Key West people. In many respects, her songs represent sung praises of our island people unlike any other community in the world! Listening to “Sand Dancing”, “Cocunut Amnesia” and many others bring a smile to your face and an unavoidable impulse to dance! Her talents both on the keyboard and piano provide a musical flare that grabs your heart and soul! I personally can’t wait for her to produce more songs that infuses tropical, latin, and jazz rhythms. You rock Lenore!!!

Lenore Troia | Key West Interview

Ever since first journeying down the seventeen mile stretch to the Florida Keys, Lenore Troia has captivated audiences with her American Caribbean sound. Her musical reflections of that chain of enchanting islands blossomed into a series of popular CD’s, with original songs like “Jetset to Sunset”, “Save Me From the Real World”, “Everyone Has A House Guest in Key West”, “Coconut Amnesia” "Point Me South I-95" and “Fishin’ You Were Here!”.

These tunes have since become tropical favorites over the airwaves. Dubbed the “Queen of Cayo Hueso”, Lenore has performed in “just about every venue up and down U.S. 1”. Her work has been selected by the Tassell Florida Keys Collection, beside such names as Hemingway, Audubon, Tennessee Williams, Wyland and Carl Hiaasen, to be in a museum that “presents artwork by a variety of visual and auditory artists who have chosen the Florida Keys as their subject of inspiration”. Recently, Lenore’s piano rendition of “God Bless America” from her “Sand Dancing” CD was chosen in a lineup next to Lee Greenwood, Jimi Hendrix, Woody Guthrie, Whitney Houston and Kate Smith, for a fourth of July music special on Fox News.

She has been a featured entertainer on the Travel Channel, Fodor’s Guide, and her music now reaches countries all over the world through Apple iTunes, AOL’s Music Net, and a host of other international digital music channels. “You Asked For It!” Lenore’s most recent release is a collection of requested cover songs from her audience during her years as a performer in Key West.

Lenore Troia’s musical life began in her birthplace, New York, discovering the piano at the age of four. Growing up as a teen in Connecticut she was a student at the Yale University affiliated Neighborhood Music School. She continued her conservatory education at Hartt College of Music and Boston University School For the Arts where she worked on her degree as a piano major. But it wasn’t long after that time when Lenore found herself showcasing in prestigious establishments in London and New York City where a New York Times critic called her “a mini-jewel of an entertainer”. She toured with her MTV award-winning group “Students of Life” and went on to play clubs, colleges and concert halls from New England to the Florida Keys, with stops in Atlantic City, New York City, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Newport and many haunts in between.

In the early nineties Lenore settled into the Florida Keys creating a successful recording label and establishing herself as a highly sought after solo artist. As a house entertainer and bandleader she has performed in top Key West resorts such as the Pier House, Casa Marina, Ocean Key, The Reach, La Te Da, the Hilton and the Hyatt. She has been contracted for corporate functions including AT&T, Volkswagen, Merrill Lynch, Pfizer, Microsoft, IBM and Bell South, as well as numerous weddings and other private events. She received great reviews and recommendations as a featured entertainer aboard the Radisson S.S. Mariner six star cruise ship.
