Episode #1: “Staycation”

KEY WEST TIME starring Howard Livingston

Opening in Howard’s waterfront backyard with a fun loving group of friends partying, Howard takes us to two events from the recent 3rd Annual Coconut Castaways Getaway—themed Meet Me in The Keys. First stop is a Mile Marker 24 concert on the water at Picnic Island, followed by a mixology segment at the Key West Yacht Club. Back at Howard’s dock, we’re treated to “What’s On The Grill” segment with John Myers from Boondocks preparing his signature Panko encrusted Tuna followed by a look back at Howard’s recent “Tunes In A Tropical Key” CD release party at Boondock’s. Next we find Howard fishing from his dock, reflecting on the sinking of the Vandenberg as inspiration for his song of the same name, brought to life by a sinking of the Vandenberg segment. Still dockside, Howard chats with Sir Peter Anderson about the history of the Conch Republic and the Annual Conch Republic Independence Celebration, followed Hula Bill and the Hulaettes. The final segment showcases Howard sharing his inspiration in writing his song “Staycation” with his friends and performance with musical guest Tim McAlpine

Congratulations Howard Livingston & Friends and Conch Republic TV to a wonderful program! Now when the Keys suffer from intense overpopulation, you can “Blame it on the Margaritas!” Who wouldn’t want to be a part of your “family” Howie? I believe your mama’s smiling down at you from Heaven right now, saying “I did good with that boy!”

Man, It’s not like being there but it helps. Up here in Ocean City, MD this time of year it’s a poor imitation of the Keys and there is no Mile Marker 24. But there is an ocean, fishing, decent beaches and fresh breezes. Attending a show with Howard and the band and his “groupies” is like a big party. Boondocks, Looe Key Tiki Bar, or at a campground……..IT’S ALL GOOD!! The Ramrod/Little Torch gang is watching. See ya next January……

    Howie:

Enjoyed the show. Made us homesick for the Keys. Fun people, great food, drink, music, water and sun. Hope to make the show on July 3. Beware of blue hats and orange shirts. Looking forward to contracting a serious case of Keys Disease!

Congratulations on what you were able to raise for the Kids Camp. What an amazing gift to give others.

    Hi there,
Just wanted to say that the Coconut Castaways are so proud and excited about Howard’s new show. It’s great to be able to “visit” the Keys on a regular basis now! BUT wishing it wasn’t just via the internet, too! It was so hard to come back to Iowa and get back to work after the Meet Me in the Keys event … gets harder and harder after each vacation with the Castaways!

Keep up the great work! We really appreciate it!

I’ve heard so much about you and MM24, and I finally went to watch you…yes I saw the national thing, was it Today? Can’t remember, I’m a PH so….ya know. (Jackie & Dave Ballard/NC kept slapping me in the head with you…finally listened!)

Now that I’ve taken the time to watch your stuff I am hooked. I am especially hooked on Staycation…I travel almost all the time, so Staycation resonates with me….I want my home-base to be my….home…base. Lucky for me, that home base’s are SC, AZ, and NYC so it kinda doesn’t suck! If only the Keys were part of that….well, someday when I grow older but not up, right? Thanks Howie and crew, you brought me to the Keys is the way that feeds my soul 🙂
