LAST TWO TIMES TO SEE “THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN,” MAY 13 & 14 We saw this delightful play at the Red Barn on opening night and loved it! A wonderful cast starring super newcomers, Arthur Crocker, Eleister Evans and Charlie Lawrence…and delightful performances by Doug Shook, Robin Deck, Ross Pipkin, Peggy Montegomery, Vanessa McCaffrey, and Tom Murtha…Directed by Carole MacCartee with set design by Gary & Jack McDonald….For tix call 305-296-9911 between 1 and 9 pm. This play takes place in Ireland and concerns these charming characters in this small town….. Accents are terrific! Acting is spot on! Showtime is 8 pm Wed. thru Sat. Runs through May 14.
NEED HELP WITH WOODEN STATUE REPAIR…..We have acquired two large statues composed of balsa wood. They are old and have seen better days….but we love them as they have deep sentimental value for us. One is missing a hand and a couple of birds…..another is missing a book. Do you know of anyone who could take a look at them and perhaps repair them for us? We want them to maintain their antique look but just want the missing parts ‘added’ or fixed. Please let me know at kwlynda@bellsouth.net or call at 305-295-0340. Believe it or not, my daughter and I made a visit to the Farm on Mother’s Day and we were delighted with it. TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXHIBIT:…..Admission is FREE….Self-guided tours are available to locals and visitors at the Tennessee Williams Exhibit located at 513 Truman just off Duval. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm…Mon.-Sat. Many new items are on display, including memorabilia collected while the Exhibit was on loan to the Museo Nacional De Bellas Artes in Havana, Cuba…..Also on display is Williams’ 1932 Univ. of Mo. Yearbook, Savitar, in which one of his early poems is given a full page. Videos provide info about the life & work of the iconic author who made KW home for 34 years. People know they can trust a Taurus, for they are reliable, faithful, practical, and people to turn to in a crisis. They can be counted on! Although they are steadfast, they are also very resistant to the idea of change. It makes them feel nervous…as if everything is going to collapse around them! Taureans always take a long time to get used to any major alterations in their life, and they they can feel dislocated by change.
