If you cannot send a card, please take time to send good vibes and prayers their way…or if you have their email, send them a message of cheer. These ladies are all wonderful and could use your support.
**# 9 WEEK OF AQUA IDOL, MARCH 15!!!…There are only two weeks left to enjoy the fabulous vocalists singing their hearts out for the Waterfront Playhouse for our Aqua Idol Fundraiser!!! Our remaining contestants are….Drum roll, please!!!!!….. TREY FORSYTH …… BILL MELCHIOR …DESTINY MONTGOMERY …FIONA MOLLOY …ROCK SOLOMON ……NINA NEWTON …NANCY ROUSE …AND NIKOLA CZERNYI!!!! On March 15, Bobby Nesbitt will be joining Tony and me as Guest Judge. Last week, we sadly had to say goodbye to the adorable Alexis Larsen. This week we will lose two more contestants and next week we will also lose 2 at the start of the evening. THEN, the Top 4 remaining vocalists will go head to head singing two songs. It is only what is earned by the singers that night, March 22, that will determine Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4!!! All will receive a wonderful prize package…Mark your calendars for the Grand Finale on March 22…. Also, HOWARD LIVINGSTON will be the guest judge on the 22nd and will also entertain! And there will be other guest singers like former contestants, Kimberly Tomai, Denis Hyland, and Bruce Moore!!! The Finale is Always a sensational and suspenseful night as the winners are announced!!! It is important that you vote for your fave contestant with dollars to keep them in the contest. If you cannot be there and want to support a vocalist, you can vote online, which is very easily done and explained below. Whatever amount is received online by 5pm on March 15 will be added to the container bucket at the end of the evening. Remember also, that all checks donated in the contestant’s buckets and marked Waterfront Playhouse and with the name of the contestant you are donating to on the memo line, are tax deductible. Our vocalists sing some great songs to Standing Room Only Audiences so do come early……. 711 Duval St. Laurie Thibaud is the terrific emcee.
SMOKING AT AQUA…..Thankfully, there are no longer ashtrays present on the tables or booths at Aqua anymore….meaning that any smoking that once was it at a huge minimum. The few people who are smokers, seem to go outside now to smoke at the back bar or out on Duval. Most of the regulars who come week after week say there is ‘No longer a problem in regard to smoking!’ So please give us a try!
ON LINE DONATIONS FOR AQUA IDOL!!! Now this is exciting stuff! Whether you can be physically there at Aqua Nightclub from week to week to hear your fave vocalists or not….we have made it very easy for you to vote for your favorite vocalist or to contribute to the Aqua Idol Prize Package… from week to week. This is how it is done…. Go to the Waterfront Playhouse website at www.waterfrontplayhouse.org. Go to Support and then hit Donate Online. You will see Donation Details….plus the name Aqua Idol Pirze Money…. Hit that, and the names of the remaining contestants will appear. Hit the name you are donating money toward, or donate $$$ for the prize package….and then fill out the options of credit card use from then on. It is very easy. Thanks for your generous support of The Waterfront Playhouse!!!! Hope to see you at Aqua Tuesday…but if you cannot be there, please vote for your faves!!! All money donated to a contestant online by 5 pm on March 15 will be added to the container amount the vocalist earns that eve. For instance….if a person received $50 in bucket money on Tuesday and $50 in online donations that would be like getting $100. that week. This is NOT a cumulative competition, so this will be done for each remaining contestant on each Aqua Idol Tuesday.

TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXHIBIT:…..Admission is FREE….Self-guided tours are available to locals and visitors at the Tennessee Williams Exhibit located at 513 Truman just off Duval. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm…Mon.-Sat. Many new items are on display, including memorabilia collected while the Exhibit was on loan to the Museo Nacional De Bellas Artes in Havana, Cuba…..Also on display is Williams’ 1932 Univ. of Mo. Yearbook, Savitar, in which one of his early poems is given a full page. Videos provide info about the life & work of the iconic author who made KW home for 34 years. HUGH’S VIEW AT THE STUDIOS…..Over $300,000 has been raised for this project… but more is needed to make this dream a reality!
